Location: 3124 State Park Road, Brainerd, MN 56401
This is a great park to visit! Great Hike!
You can find the Mississippi and Crow Wing rivers come together at this location so it was a meeting place for traders.
The trail I took brought me deep into thick woods, along the Mississippi river, grassy prairies, and swamp land.
BRING INSECT REPELLENT!!
Some of the wildlife that you might see are white-tailed deer, black bear, coyote, grey and red fox, raccoon, grey, red and fox squirrel, beaver, woodchuck, ruffed grouse, songbirds, waterfowl and turtles.
I did spot a soft-shell turtle laying her eggs along the path.
