No big deal the ring broke. If you can dissolve the rest of the green without the ring falling apart, you can solder the shank back together. The mix of metals is necessary in gold earring construction. It takes a steel pin for the hinge, if nothing else. … back to back nickels are better, except when you need back to back pennies. Which now you do! 🤣
