Naples International Airport has been awarded as one of the most beautiful airports in Europe and world. The number of shops and high quality food in there has no other comparisons worldwide. No mentioning ofc big world cities like Dubai, Paris, London etc. It is in the very center of the city and the 3rd Italian airport by volume…sure things it’s BUSY and chaotic. Honestly I love it and in the very next future a direct metro will link the airport to the city center. I definitely prefer these kind of city airport even tho “small” than desert cathedrals in the middle of nowhere.

Thanks for comments. I'm not so sure I'd agree with you completely about the beauty and quality of shops/food. The location is very good. And the metro connection will improve the overall quality of the airport.

I m from Naples and u are right ! The airport is too small , not Just for the population of the city 3 million of people , buy even for the tourists . In 2026 it may be open the airport of Salerno Amalfi Coast to solve this crowded situati on

Having been to 70+ countries and so many airports not all airports are claustophobic or feel busy. Designed well, airports can be great escapes from hustle and bustle

I flew in from USA so the terminal is different so I can't say for sure. Let's give it 1 hour TOPS from the time you land to the time you get luggage. Probably quicker but that's my recommendation. Fast Ferry - are you thinking of taking this to Capri? I'd recommend 3 hours from landing > ferry departure. Let me know if you have other questions

Thanks for this. How far away is the car rental center? Are you able to walk to/from car rental pickup and drop-off to the terminal?

Great question! If you don’t have lots of suitcases and weather ok you can walk. There is a free shuttle but it’s small minivan

Do you have experience with transfers from the airport to the city center? Can I buy a ticket at the airport for Alibus (where)? Or maybe it's better to use an application such as Omio or another one?

I haven’t done this. You can buy on the bus but try buying at a small shop at the airport to save money. 15 minutes to Naples. 6 Euro I think

I was there in last October and it was way more crowded than on the video. For departure I arrived 4 hours before security was open for my flight but there were not enough chairs where to sit and wait. I was then sitting directly on the floor. Thankfully I had extra pair of jeans I was able to put on the floor to make it more comfortable. Lots of other people were sitting directly on concrete. It was awful and exhausting experience. Past security it was a lot better.

Yea there were not many options to sit before you enter security. They don't let you enter early because it's crowded inside the terminal. Thanks for comments. I heard they are going to build a new airport quite far away from Napoli

​@@swissclimber1The Salerno airport is under construction and I think they also plan to build another one in Grazzanise. It is a very populated and very touristy region and without a doubt that airport, although it is nice, is too small.
