Well, here it is. I had a couple videos in the works, but this is the one I've been focused on, and has been giving me a headache. I'm still not 100% happy with it, but I think it's about as good as I ever will be.
Season 2 essentially paralleled Gabriel and Beelzebub, far more than Nina and Maggie, and I wanted to showcase that. Essentially, their happy ending gave hope to Crowley and Aziraphale of their own happy ending, only for Metatron to come down with his stupid coffee and ruin everything. I also really wanted to get into their struggle with sides, and how Crowley and Aziraphale have created their own team - only for Aziraphale to end up "choosing". It's almost like a sequel to my video from 4 years ago, which is fitting.
There was so much symbolism this season that I didn't even manage to touch... It'd need to be a much longer video.
Oh. And sorry. Not sorry. For that ending.

i fucking LOVE this video, even when it breaks my heart... it makes it clearer than ever that despite their romanticism of their "own side", Crowley and Aziraphale's truly never talked about what that really meant, they never really talked about themselves in the deeper sense, they never talked about how the side they're on is humanity, is earth and that lack of clarity made Aziraphale fuck up (momentarily let's hope) their future. The worst part is that even at this point, Crowley wants to run and refuses to accept that he's willing to become a soldier again if it means defending humanity. God this show became so much deeper with a dizzying speed.

Oh my god I literally held my breath when I heard the first verse of ‘Don’t fear the reaper’, as that is one of my favourite songs ever!!! My favourite version of this song is the original by blue oyster cult but this version of the song is so beautiful and powerful and it suits so well, and I never noticed how well the lyrics fit with Aziraphale and Crowley until now. Good god I honestly spent the whole damn video holding my breath. this is truly one of the best edits i've ever seen! your "on your side" video is still my favorite season one edit, but this one was even better, pointing out all the symbolism and parallels so well (and the song choice was amazing)!! using god's narration at the beginning was genius, and it made me think, if god is canonically telling this story, she had gabriel and beelzebub be footnotes in the epic, millenia-spanning story that is aziraphale and crowley's love for a reason. first of all, i think she -- and neil -- are just as much fans of angsty, extremely slow-burn, dramatic love stories as we are. i know those personally have a lot more meaning for me, at least. i'm wondering if there may be a deeper meaning to god's decision to have told this particular story, and in this way, that could be revealed next season? i'm not sure what yet, but it makes me wonder...

I reckon this was one big trick from the Metatrone. Azira still has a complex of a "good boy" and he feels he is better than Crowley. He still sees him as a lesser being if you look a this. A foul fiend. He teams up with him when it is convenient when he needs help but he still doesn't like to admit he is his friend and especially not to Heaven. He only would be with him if Crowley took his offer and became an Angel again which shows Azi is embarrassed that Crowley is a demon. He doesn't accept him as he is and he wants to change him to an Angel so he can be with him and not be embarrassed because Crowley would be an Angel, so that would be all right. I think after arriving to Heaven he will be punished severely, and put in Heaven prison. I reckon the Metatron just wanted to separate him from Crowley so they can go ahead with the second Armageddon. I reckon in season 3 we will see Crowley will be yet again rescuing his angelic ass.
