The amount of thought that goes into these videos compared to the normie channels is staggering, they all seem to skip the design theory, animal husbandry and plant specific needs and go straight for the clickbait. Keep up the awesome work Matt!

Thank you soooooo much! I spend insane amounts of hours even on short videos (and sometimes cut things out, add things, or redo parts). It's awesome to hear that people actually notice the effort going into these, and that it's really good/helpful. 😇

Getting the Story of your setup done by constructing the hardscape is the most challenging part for everyone who starts with aquascaping or terrascaping. Good advice is to take your time. It usually takes me about a month from the Idea to the finalised hardscape. Sometimes its done within a day but complex storys require more time :]

@@karlseidl6067 Hey Karl.

Looks awesome! I thought it was an aquarium aquascape at first. You did good to draw inspiration from the aquascaping hobby, I just have never seen a terrarium with such attention to composition and design before. This is stunning

Btw matthew, why dont you just use the cigarette-filter / superglue technique as aquascapers do. Its not so strong holding together a lot of stones, but for wood pieces it should be enough :) Cheers!
@AnotherWorldTerraria

Thanks for the tip. Maybe I will try that for a future project. I really like epoxy because of the various speeds (60 sec, 5 min, 1 hr, etc) which give me more flexibility and ease in working with materials, and also because the epoxy is a gel which can span larger gaps (also the putty one can be used to build up missing areas like the holes the wood where that larger branch attached). So generally, epoxy gel and putty are things that work very well for me and have good benefits. But again, I would not be opposed to trying superglue on some smaller projects. Thank you sir!

@AnotherWorldTerraria
@AnotherWorldTerraria 3 жыл бұрын
Hello my friend! I keep all of my tanks at room temperature, which is usually around 70 F but goes up and down in summer and winter. I will go over the mold/fungus and other stuff in later videos in the series, but basically the solution is to use isopods, springtails, and avoid having too much decaying matter.

Hey Matt, how come epoxy putty and not just silicone that you can stick the peat to in one step? Thanks! -James
@AnotherWorldTerraria
@AnotherWorldTerraria 3 жыл бұрын
Hey James, I used epoxy putty in this particular case because of the very large gaps between the two pieces of wood. The point of doing that was to fill the void and ensure both pieces were essentially one. I could have used silicone but it would have been extremely thick, taken forever to cure, and would have been flexible. I would rather fill the gap with a solid material that is made for that purpose. Thanks for watching!
