This is my mix of a fantastic dance song. This mix includes the vocal version with the disco dance version. I remember being able to dance to this song all night long. Hope you enjoy this mix.

I can’t begin to describe how much I used to love this song!!!! Saw them at New York’s Felt Forum at Madison Square Garden in my late teens .All was good in the world back then. One of my favorite songs by them! I love the lead singer’s voice!!!! I loved the vocals, the synthesizer, guitars, and those HORNS!!!! One of the best groups around back then!!!

T.S.O.N.Y. The Sound Of New York ! ! ! Viva Crown Heights Affair y Viva the 70's ! ! ! Thanx Bhamdave52 for posting both versions. This is one of the greatest Dico songs ever. This song is pure Dico 70's. I was a young soldier when Dreaming A Dream was released & far from home. This always takes me back whenever I hear it. Sadly we lost the Great Sax man Bert Reid on12/12/2004 to lung cancer. This was a magical time when music ruled the airwaves. R.I.P. Bert Reid & Frankie Crocker.

~ 1975-77 and still fresh in 2018. We wore out the original 7" of this and "Every Beat of My Heart" in New Orleans in 1975. The extended new version original 12" came out in '77, and we wore that out as well, along with Carrie Lucas "I Gotta Keep Dancing." All good in the aughts. Cheers, DAVEDJ ~

Growing up in the suburbs the Brooklyn sound of Crown Heights Affair, Brass Construction and B.T. Express was often described as "ghetto." Yet, listening to this 40+ years later the romanticism is what comes through.

Oh My God What a fantastic discovery here on youtube!!!! This so reminds me of our good old parties back in the mid late 70´s (down here in São Paulo, Brazil) at the prime of disco music! Each song was a work of art, and this one, on the tops! I remember they used to play it on tv as background for surf scenes too..

I dunno if this is originally from the record or a special mix somebody did on their own but this was the same way that classic jam was played back in the era of those glorious disco nights... and man does this takes me back (three-piece suit and all). I was looking for an extended version like this of this jam for so long. Great post, thanks for sharing!!!

I love this jam so much. You could hustle to it or breakdance. I especially like that it is both the vocal and instrumental version, kinda nicely mixed. My favorite part is the vocal, where they sing,"I had a dream,a dream of you and meeeeeeeee..,ahhhh,go head baby!!!

I'd rather hustle to it too, babe, but I was referring to the guy dancers with the baggy pants and long chained pocket watches. Perhaps that style of dance had another name instead of,"breakdance". But I hear you. It tis the Hustle!

Does anyone remember a record that came out in the late 70's,or early 80's,that towards the end the singer says,"See you later and have a nice day". I'm sure it was a disco song...
