I just bought a replacement door for my grand marquis after someone git me. Will the code still work after replacing door with the same kind, but different keypad on it? All the wiring is from old door new door is just the door, no insides.

I like that car Chuck. Previous owner of my marauder forgot that number so I went to dealership in town where it was bought new, showed proof of ownership and they gave it to me. Guy looked it up on his computer and I was outta there in 5min. No charge. That was in 2017

I was typing in my code and I accidentally pressed the button that unlocks the trunk so I stopped for a moment closed the trunk and thought it was strange so pressed the button again after typing in the code and it did it again and I was like this is cool wonder what else I can do and I realized I could unlock all doors and was like thats great I wonder if I can lock all doors so I tried for a while and I decided to look up what the door code can do and found your video I thank you for showing the tips and tricks of the door code

Yo John, I had a feeling you P71 guys would be feeling left out of this Super Duper High Tech Bell & Whistle feature. lol I’ve seen P71 owners add features like cruise control, by replacing the steering wheel with one that has button controls. I’ve also seen P71 owners add Ford Factory Key Fob Remotes to lock/unlock the doors, pop the trunk. I don’t see why you couldn’t add the keypad, and have it work. Maybe you could be the first to do it. Btw, if you go to the junkyard to get the keypad, you may also want to pick up the driver door module too. -Chuck

@@JohnMurrayOP Well in that case I personally would avoid a police model, and opt for a civilian model. And that's based on all the questions I get from P71 owners, and my experience with civilian model Vic's. Yes, the driver door module is located behind the door panel.

I now work at a ford dealership and ford only keeps keycodes for cars 10 years and up so anything past 2010 (soon 2011) will need both original keys to reprogram them to start

Yo Aska, Thanks for watching. I looked into it, and it doesn't look like the "bulb" is user replaceable. The buttons are illuminated by LED chips that are soldered onto the circuit board inside the keypad. So if you're handy with a soldering iron, and you can get a hold of the LED chips on Amazon you should be able to restore the back-lit function. If that's too much trouble you may want to pick one up at the junk yard. Or you could order a new keypad for around $80. Here is the part number; 8L8Z-14A626-AA - -Chuck
