If it was up to the departments they would have all kept CrownVics, Ford made the executive decision to make new fleet cars since CVPIs where getting too old and incompatible with the new technology standards the industry has like everything else in life changes happen regardless of whether you want them or not. Also to be fair my guy the only thing new fleet cars won't ever have comparable to what the crown vics had is their body on frame build, other than that performance wise new cars such as the interceptors or the dodge chargers do exceptionally well for law enforcement.

I used to work limos in NJ. The dispatch found it odd that I always asked for a vic instead of the newer sedans which were Volvos. I even chose them over town cars. A million miles on some and still would not give up and that's not including thousands and thousands of hours idling

I recently bought one as well... a 2011 detective p.i... needed a vehicle since my jeep wrangler's frame let go. The C.V. wasn't what I originally had in mind but a friend talked me into getting one that was available locally. Needless to say, I'm not sorry at all. Love it!

Man that 4.6 was singing during that training excercise. One good trait that Ford modular engines had (4.6, 5.4, 6.8) is they were all incredibly smooth, torquey for their size & they sounded amazing. My Navigator with the 4V 5.4 sounds great and nothing sounds better than the V-10 when its screaming.

I have a 2003 ford crown victoria police interceptor and it's an awesome car. I love the sound of the tranny moving at full throttle. it's a highway car. Ride nice and smooth. all the bugs of the 2003 have been worked out. I drive my crown vic on occasions.My main driver is an 04 toyota corrolla. and what a big difference between the two cars.

I drive a 2007 Ford Crown Vic Police Interceptor and she commands respect everywhere she goes. I named her "badass angel" cuz she's all white, fast, and people put themselves in check when she's near. She still has her lightbar, take down lights(front/back), cage, bars and ram guard. We turned her into a Zombie Outbreak Unit but people still fear her lol.

Sadly, the crown victoria was always meant as a civilian car. They made damn good fleet cruisers, but ford had a whole different agenda. There will never truly be a replacement to america's cop car.
