You bet man, The whole premises for this channel is just to pass down what I’ve learned over 30+years, I am a hack at KZbin but I do the best I can and if you ever have any questions don’t hesitate to reach out, if I don’t know the answer I can guarantee I know enough people I’ll be able to find it for you✌️

Good morning . I’m set to start with crst march 7th. Lease purchase . I’m currently working for a local company . I’m home everyday. Making 1200$ a week for 5 days with an end dump. Do you think it’s worth going to crst? Also do they pay for insurance as part of the 25%?
@sturgelltruckingllc4074
@sturgelltruckingllc4074 2 жыл бұрын
They pay the big chunk of insurance you pay bobtail Insurance which should come out to be $200-$300 a month, and as far as you switching from what you're doing to a LP, it really depends on what you're looking for, your goals shot and long term, what you're looking to make and how much you want to work, that's an impossible question for me to answer with that many variables... Best of luck to ya either way

How long would you suggest a rookie to stay company before becoming a lease operator? July would be 1 year with melton.

Is that your total driving experience? I usually tell guys to be out on the road for five years before they step into being an owner operator, but a lease purchase is different because you can walk away from it unlike going out and buying a truck, though I'm still not a fan of lease purchase programs it does give a guy a little taste of what goes in to being an owner operator before they go all in,, so there is a little benefit to it in that regard...

@@sturgelltruckingllc4074 Yes sir. 1year total of driving experience right now. I've done the whole year otr and will be doing that again this year. Ive experienced pretty much everything melton hauls. The goal is to give myself 3-5year as company driver before leasing or owner op. Ive been told before leasing might be for me. Being single with no expenses. I was mostly told what I could make and not what could go wrong.

Well totally up to you, my personal recommendation is and always has been be a company man for about five years, study this industry SAVE your money and then go out and buy your own truck and not be a lease purchase program driver, the only thing a lease purchase will give you over being a company driver is a little bit more of a view of what goes in to being an owner operator, but it's not really a full-blown owner operator if you know what I mean, best of luck to you my friend

It’s my 4th week here with Malone , I’m LP Deductions are killer I got hooked up with a good CSA Do you use the Malone load board I use that and I’ve got DAT but it’s usually shit on there did 3 loads this week tried to do 4 couldn’t find shit had to DH home 270 miles

To be honest I hardly use the Load Boards at all anymore. agents blow up my phone as soon as they see me heading to an area... but yes I would start with the Malone board first ,I only use spot Market boards if there's no other option

Question. I just starting as owner operator with CRST. I am dry van getting a 70/30 split. Why are you getting 75/25? Is that because of flat bed?
@sturgelltruckingllc4074
@sturgelltruckingllc4074 6 ай бұрын
Yes, and we get 100% fuel surcharge, also our rates are considerably higher. You really can’t compare. The two, flatbed always has and always will pay a lot more money than swinging doors because it requires a very special skill set and a lot of physical labor….

Crst Malone, they took my maintenance money and would not properly maintain my truck,. I got carbon monoxide poisoning there. I lost my cdl because from the carbon monoxide poisoning I got seziers. They fired me on my hospital bed the second they found out that I got carbon monoxide poisoning.

Sorry to hear that however it wasn’t your maintenance money because you never owned the truck they did, you put nothing down and you walked away with owing nothing, CRST took all the risk and you had no skin in the game, as I have stated in many of my videos a lease purchase driver is not a true owner operator, it’s barely a steppingstone to give you a look into what goes into becoming a real owner operator and I don’t even recommend it in the first place… Again sorry to hear about you getting sick and I hope you’re better now, All I can say is this is the best place i’ve ever worked in my over 30 years in the trucking industry, Best of luck in your future endeavors…

I own the truck now and they are in the process of having to pay me 10 million dollars. The truck is mine.

If you had owend the truck there would’ve been NO maintenance account, do you have anything to add here or did you just come to complain and troll? Do you have any point to anything? Do you have any questions for me? Why are you here?

I truly wish I would have just done it the way u did. To get my truck from a dealership I think 🤔u done it right. But them crst people. There a scam. And they fired me on my hospital bed hoping I died and didn't live to sue them.
