4:03 putting persons struggling with same-sex attraction in ministry positions is a horrible mistake and people ought to learn from decades of scandal and billions in payouts in the Catholic Church after they did that.

Sadly, this slow infiltration of the churches is all over the place. I think one of the main reasons we are seeing this is because for about 30 years now the teaching of sound doctrine has all but disappeared.

InterVarsity Christian Fellowship is equally as bad on wokeness, Side B, egalitarianism, mysticism, promotion of Catholicism, and representation of the biblical gospel.

So sad! I’m sure Bill Bright is turning over in his grave. The reality is that , in some ways he started this organization down this path when he accepted and promoted the belief in tongues, which he had opposed early on.

50+ years on Cru staff and I don't ever remember Dr. Bright mentioning tongues and definitely never heard him promote them. And I am a cessationist so it would have definitely caught my attention if he did.

Cru staff (50+ years) here. The "smoking gun" clip at 2:20 has nothing to do with Side A and Side B as it relates to the LGBTQ question. That clip is on an entirely unrelated subject referencing Carl Ellis' use of “Side A theology” (propositional theology arrived at through rationality) and “Side B theology” (ethical theology arrived at through intuition) as it relates to race.

Re: Your statement "Like the United Methodist Church, Cru is bent on having homosexuals and transvestites in ministry leadership positions within the organization and this curriculum exists to serve that end." I can assure you that Cru is not "bent" on having homosexuals and transvestites in ministry leadership positions and the C&F curriculum does not exist to serve that end. Someone "struggling" with LGBTQ issues can no more be in a position of leadership than a heterosexual "struggling" with opposite sex issues can.

Is there really any such thing as gay? There are all kinds of kinks and sins but they’re not identities with flags and parades. There’s not a nation Adulterers Pride Month. Sin is sin as far as the Bible is concerned. There’s 2 identities - saved and damned. The identity lie keeps people in bondage to sin. ALL sin can be repented of and stopped- I was an addict once, do you think it was easy to stop? Sometimes you have to starve something out of you for the desires to go away. This is the biblical perspective.

I have a Christian friend who struggles with same-sex attraction. He has decided to remain celibate rather than dishonor God with his body. He also doesn't claim the word "gay" for himself. When it comes up, he states that he "struggles with same-sex attraction". And yes, it is a real struggle, not something he has resigned himself to. He respectfully asks his male roommates not to change in front of him, for instance. He also says that he is sick of Christians telling him how honorable he is for abiding by biblical principals instead of just finding a church that is affirming and living into his disordered desires. He just sees it as his cross to bear, just like men with normal desires have to limit our sexual thoughts to our wife. So he's not exactly Side B, but as far as I know he has no plans to marry a woman (the only kind of real marriage).
@michaelward134126 күн бұрын
That doesn't sound very side B to me. I think if he was side B, he'd be identifying as "gay". He's treating it more like kleptomania and alcoholism or any other compulsion that person may have without it becoming the definition of who they are and demanding acceptance for it.
@carllauderdale650025 күн бұрын
Side B in these cases is referring to "leaders". So, if your friend recognizes he has this problem with a particular sin, and that the Scriptures call it it as such, but chooses to attend a Scriptually-sound church, that is a tremendous step for him. But in no way should he seek leadership in the church with such sinful challenges, and that while "coming out" is not easy, I pray that he and the church would feel God's grace to find guidance, friendship, and restorative healing for overcoming his sinful desires. This is the hardest challenge for folks like this trying to seek God, but also churches figuring out how to Biblically meet their need to help repent and restore.

Preston is a raging Heretic, plain and simple!
@roryhand665020 күн бұрын
What was the issue with Preston's words? It's actions and attitudes of the heart the Lord judges, not the fact we have naturally broken desires. Unrepentantly constantly giving into those desires mentally and physically is wrong, but the desires naturally occuring? Sounds a bit of a stretch on your part.
@evangelicaldarkweb20 күн бұрын
You seem to think that homosexual lust is a natural desire and not an unnatural one.
