@@Yuri_Jonker no, a leader is what they are. Shepherds are leaders of sheep. “Pastor” means shepherd. He’s since done a short video - one month in a Christian. Very simple sincere, accurate gospel message. I’ve followed him for a couple of years. I couldn’t believe the change in this person. He was a mess. He’s done consistently thoughtful interviews. Although there are none who seek for God, he’s been sincerely seeking for peace for as long as I’m I’ve followed him. He had a couple of million subscribers. KZbin demonetized him because why not? He has close to 7 million subscribers. My husband is wiser than me and even he’s persuaded of his sincerity. He’s had all the fame. He’s a happily married dad with three kids. Very concerned about the direction of the world. I pray for him as a brother. We all started out as baby Christians. You're assuming that he got baptized by a Christian minister without any instruction or discipleship. (You must be assuming that, otherwise you'd have reason to believe that he was instructed in the meaning of baptism and its relationship to faith in Christ.) That seems like an extremely faulty assumption to start with. Just because he's not yet fluent in Christianese after being formally Christian for one day is not a basis on which to make a judgment, or even express skepticism. As Doug says, time will tell, and fruit is borne over time.

I’m thinking of other celebrity conversions - Bob Dylan - don’t know what happened there. I suspect it might have something to do with the Vineyard movement, and all the crazies. Jim Carrey - claims to be a Christian - seems more like a new ager. Kanye West - He’s God don’tcha know. Alice Cooper - seems very genuine. Jane Fonda - not even close. Russell Brand - the verdict is still out. I pray he continues to seek the truth. I almost forgot Jordan Peterson - friend of Russell Brand. I’m amazed. God definitely changes hearts. I’m not certain if he has completely converted, but I see definite changes in his thinking towards Jesus - at one time Jesus was completely mythical to Jordan - now it seems that he’s grasping the necessity of Christ’s (and his resurrection’s) historicity. I’m sure he’s read and contemplated 1 Corinthians 15 - “16 For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised. 17 And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins.” ESV I think that one verse will tend to set someone straight on the mythical value of Christ - negligible. Honorable mention - Donna Summer - gone too soon.

The problem isn’t the baptism or anything to do with the act nor is it whether or not his fruits will show. He got sober before all this. He changed because he’s spiritual long before any of this occurred. This has nothing to do with salvation in Christ. That is the problem. The problem is he never once mentions the blood of Christ or repentance. He’s speaking in spiritual terms, not redemptive. I pray that he may one day come to find salvation in Christ, but he hasn’t as yet by his own lack of acknowledgment of the very thing that he’s been saved from, let alone by. Even a baby Christian understands that. He never mentions it once and Christians who are taking him at face value are hearing what he isn’t saying. No one should discourage him from seeking Christ but we must make certain it’s the correct Jesus.

I love you Doug. But you are so wrong on infant baptism. It’s tradition, it’s not supported by Scripture.

I heard that baptism is the redemption of your sins

Cool I hear all kinds of stuff too. Strange stuff, erroneous stuff.

No. Baptism is an act of obedience. Redemption is when your sins are credited to Christ and his righteousness is credited to you. That is the moment that you are saved, when you've cried out to the Lord. If, after that, you die before you can be baptized, you are still saved. Baptism doesn't save. Jesus does.

It depends on the theological family you're in. In the Roman Catholic and Lutheran branches, yes, it is.

Some may say - that but it’s not correct, biblically. Roman’s and Ephesians are key salvation texts that spell out how redemption happens (both front and backstage). Baptism is an act of obedience and more than a symbol which images the death life resurrection of a born again soul, made alive again in Christ. Not an effectual means of salvation in and of itself.
