Kira's Guardian and Temper are awesome helm options for a merc, but if you personally need more +fire res to deal with conviction auras then Flickering Flame on a merc can be a great alternative

If you can’t survive hell council yet, farm in NM a bit longer. They drop nice gear there already.

It is trav, the Player difficulty is not significant for trav. That is the reason why many people farm it online

Adding a rising sun amulet to your dwarnstar ring and the fire then heals you. I imagine any 2/3 combination of dwarf, rising sun and twmper helm will do the same aswell.

You can also put on a Rising Sun with the Dwarf star to absorb even more fire damage (Fire damage will heal you instead if your resistances are good enough)

Ya i am happy the way i started ladder. Intentionally using very budget gear for a couple day, then trade for an upgrade or 2 each day or so. Was fun getting better and better each day.

TG for the Light dmg, Dwar Star, Infernos and you can easy farm it. Just keep some Fire and light resi charms you collected on the way from normal to hell..

geared up throw barb actually follows a different strategy and all the council members pilling up (around your merc) is the best case, so you can all hit them with pierce. With decrep they are just melting in seconds, no issues with healing whatsoever. Unfortunately, you are often at the mercy of the braindead merc AI and using the stairs is only an option after getting quite a lot of gear upgrades.. But after that, just play it like frenzy with additional pierce built in

My Amazon doesn't have full fire resist on her own, so I use Flickering Flame on my merc and it helps keep her alive. OH also, yesterday I found two Jah from Travincal in less than an hour.

I’m not sure if it is a glitch, but I was having a problem where if I used the stairs to Dur level one when I came back out the bodies that I have not horked yet have disappeared

I've had the bodies disappear when I didn't even leave the area, no one else was in my game, and I have no cold damage, so they didn't shatter. It's odd.

If you "leave the area" the bodies can disappear, ya.

Hammerdin with Rising sun ammy and dual dwarf star is absolutely invincible at Trav, your physical hits get INSTANTLY filled by the fire leech, and the kill speed is great, I ran trav up to an enigma in a couple of days with a hammerdin, I found a Jah, and the Ber I cubed up, and sur and vex to spare

For me Frenzy Barbarian with two Oath swords or Paladin with Death and Exile shield done their job there without any problems.
