Turning a BOXSTER Into a Vintage SUPERCAR! - Extending the Wheelbase

We're continuing Project Jigsaw this week! And we begin fabricating the brand new subframe that we need to lengthen the wheelbase of this car, and be able to fit our new V8 Engine. Come along as Tony and Ryan problem-solve the complex engineering behind this project, and take jabs at each other all along the way!

Funny enough the Cayman and Boxster wheelbase is within 0,5 mm of the original Ford GT40. This makes for a very agile and turn happy car. Also the Boxster is about a foot longer then the GT40. So i'm very curious how things will go in the looks department.

An LS can fit in the Boxster chassis. Some cabin is lost but it can be done.

Yeah, if we cut into the cabin we could have for the 302 as well, but we really didn’t want to sacrifice the space in the interior (and wanted the benefits of a longer wheelbase!)

So, if you raise the bottom, wouldn't you also need to raise the top mounting locations to keep geometry the same? Raising the botom 1.5" and keeping the top where it was seems like a pretty drastic change to suspension geometry. Just started binge watching the series after seeing progress of thumbnails in my feed for a while now.
