Really, people blaming Shinji for being whiny just doesn't understand what mental issues are. - Lose his mother when he's still a child - His father toss him to a relatives - A decade later, his father calls him only to make him fight in a giant robot against an alien (Angel), risking his life. - He acts like any 13 years old teenage boy with mental issues and broken home: whining, rebelling, etc. - The adults around him didn't help either, they only pushes him around to fight. - When Shinji finally got a friend, his father forces him to kill his friend. - When Shinji had enough, he's forced to choose between his own life or everyone else. No teenage boy IRL would be strong enough mentally to go through all that.

A remaster indeed! I was worried when the original got deleted from my playlist, so I went here to see what happened. The remastered version is pretty awesome. I could hear a lot of notes that were too quiet in the original, and there was emphasis on certain notes throughout the song, making it sound more dynamic and "alive"

I seem to be suffering from 'original experience' prejudice, since most of my first hearings of this music is someone's piano or guitar arrangement. Often the original versions strike me as a bit (or very) over-produced with rather frantic instrumentation (although I did kinda dig the vocals on the original of this one). Guess maybe I should listen to the originals first and suspend judgement. Your renderings are always appealing to what might be my less-sophisticated aural palate (hmm...not sure that comes off as complimentary). Staying tuned...

Hahahahaha....no, no, LOVE it! Killed half an hour listening to this and the original side by side, amazed at the fidelity of harmonies, rhythms, and articulation between the two. Again, though, the single instrument sharpens up all the aforementioned... In other news: The freshened-up 'Mousou...' is better, improbably so since your original draft was immediately endearing. Sounds like a proper performance, and a lot of it will probably find its way into my playing of it. Still makes me want for a long walk through the countryside, though...which ISN'T a criticism!

Sixty-two. 90% of my musical (semi) employment is singing: church, liturgical, 34 seasons with local opera company, & other vocal ensembles - because I can read (or bluff) most anything & have no apparent stage fright. Can't believe I'm still routinely offered work at my age. Studied piano, guitar & strings out of high school, played in a couple local orchestras & some pick-up bands. Piano interests at that time were mostly American vernacular: Gottschalk, Confrey, the ragtime & early jazz composers. Picked up the piano again about 4 years ago when I discovered arrangements by Salvare004 (a now-idle site), worked on his 'Kizunairo' arrangement for, uh, ever. Now follow over a hundred arrangers. About the only instrumental performance I'm offered is when someone is desperate for a guitarist who can read staff, tab, and/or lead sheet. This stuff (which is to stay, your stuff) is purely for my amusement, though it has sharpened up my skills noticeably. Uh, TMI?
