Despite my initial assumptions from the beginning of the season, I’ve been getting the feeling, for the past few episodes, that Luke NEVER, truly, seemed to be THAT into Megan outside of in an “uncharted territory” type of way, as well as, seeing her as a close/familiar friend. Megan seemed to have more like for him, meanwhile, Luke seemed to have more interest and romantic energy for Isabella, both during and AFTER their relationship.

Remember the first season? We thought Jeannette was innocent just troubled but it ended on a ridiculous cliff hanger that she knew she was there in the house the whole time. I feel like the charges will be dropped for the girls and everyone would accept it was a mistake but then we are gonna get a flashaback of one of the girls, I suspect megan since she has the "innocent girl act" of her actually pushing luke into the lake. But she is gonna get away scott free

I can definitely see this playing out. They made Jeanette seem so guilty all season, then made it seem like she was innocent just for her to end up guilty in the end. My money is on one of the girls being the culprit. My initial theory was the father.

Since episode two I’ve gotten the feeling that Brent had a thing for Megan. The only person who seemed to be interested in her before she started to change how she dressed and acted. However I don’t see him intentionally doing anything to hurt Luke. I’m starting to get really curious about Parker. She just seems to be more than a minor background character but we’ve gotten so little of her so far. There are so many unanswered questions to her story. Why did her and Brent break up? How did her and Isabella start to become good friends after she seemed so hostile towards Isabella when she first showed up? Originally I thought it was gonna be because of them bonding over breaking into the Chamber’s and looking for more tapes, but after last weeks episode it seems that they started a friendship in Summer ‘99. Also, if they are such good friends then why in the first episode did Parker say to Megan while she was looking at the missing poster of Luke “None of this would have happened if she never showed up.” and why was she so quick to rat to the sheriff and what did she say to him? I’ve seen where there is promo material and interviews with the actress who plays Parker but none of the other minor characters. So I feel like she must play a larger role in the last two episodes. Also I predict that in the promo for next weeks episode where we see Luke tied to the bed with a terrified look it’s going to be because one of the girls walks in pointing the gun at him. Since we saw who is the better shot in episode two I think Megan is the one who shoots him intentionally in the ear knowing she can control her aim and not cause him actual harm. Possibly, it being Ned who thought her how to shoot.

Sooooo, Luke’s pappy just gets creepier and CREEPIER, EVERY.single.episode. Also, did anyone ELSE think the scene where Steven and Brent were discussing Megan and Ned, sounded somewhat “alibi-ish” from the way that Steve was trying to explain away to Brent how the authorities would probably be looking more to Ned (aka “the Unhinged Cabin in the Woods Guy”) as a viable suspect?? To me, the way he played that scene gave me the impression that he was a bit more concerned about how the cops would view Ned vs. “I wonder if Ned REALLY did it?”

On top of that, I do think Brent and Steve has some secrets that might play into the whole thing. So far, this season is okay, but season 1 was hitting.

The oddest moment to me in this episode was when Luke and Megan were leaving the store with party supplies on New Year’s and he said he forgot his wallet inside and had to go back in. MmmmmHmmmm, yeah…. right… SUSPICIOUS. Oh, also I remember Ned turning the camera screens off when Megan went to his house to help with the Y2K issue. So she probably didn’t know he had all those cameras.

I so agree this season is all over the place. lol I also agree last season was wayyy better. (I knew Jeanette was gulity and was so happy I was vindicated at the very end 😂) Maybe this session they wanted a more HTGAWM mystery -esque feel as to keep us guessing until the very end. I’m too invested in This season to stop watching at this point. But my new theory is the brother has something to do with it or knows who actually did it And he knows it wasn’t Ned or Megan. As far as what actually happened I have no clue 😂

I totally forgot about this but didn’t they say the bullet that grazed Luke was from Steve’s gun that had Isabella, Luke, and Megan’s finger prints on it? So that totally takes Ned out of the equation when it comes to Luke being shot by him (allegedly!) so ned could still play some part, but not that part!

I feel like Ned isn't as bad as he looks. I feel like their trying hard to make Ned look really scary and like the bad guy but I don't really think he is..maybe he's just constantly had Megan's back and was always looking after her (as a friend Type of way because Megan never really treated Ned like a freak kinda like the rest of the town does). Theory: Maybe Luke's dad is the reason (or at least, the motivation) that the baby is gone. He could've found out about the pregnancy and because Luke was already in trouble for the sex tape, he gives him an ultimatum; either he convinces Megan to get rid of the baby or he'll be disowned from the family. Luke tells Megan about what his father said and they fight over it. Megan decides that she wants to have the baby, but Luke doesn't. So, he finds a way to get rid of the baby (causing a miscarriage and the bloody sheets).

Only reason i dont think that is a possible scenerio, is because NYE was the last time he was was seen by his dad and Megan is just finding out so it would be no time for them to discuss it. Otherwise Good theory the dad could have discovered after and maybe did something to make her lose it.

I don't know why but I feel like maybe the girls honestly don't know who killed Luke. I think they just did something (like tie him up and maybe even chase him) that they know would make them look guilty or possibly turn up something else they've done, so they have to hide everything that happened to protect themselves/each other. 🤷‍♀

Here is my theory. The Tape: Jeff made the tape out of revenge to Luke for stealing his girlfriend. Jeff believes that it was Isabella and not Megan on the tape. Parker found out that Brent made inappropriate tapes at the Christmas Party, she bumps into Jeff. Jeff manipulates Parker into publishing the tape at the Christmas Party, because she would know how to do so because her and Brent were in a relationship. The Murder of Luke: The Murder of Luke I’m not a 100 percent sure of. I will say though that I think Parker is one of the parties that had attempted murder on Luke. She be friended Isabella hoping that it would benefit her in the long run. Parker probably told Luke everything about the tape and because of it Luke tries to attack Parker and she shoots him in the ear, he’s knocked out and she leaves. Dark Horse Theory: Luke faked his death with the help of The Sheriff, and they try to pin the murder on Isabella and Megan.

Can we all just agree that Luke is just an a**…..Also yea Isabella is obsessed with Megan, maybe Megan reminds her of Lisa, maybe. Still going with Ned didn't kill Luke, Steve himself say Ned wouldn't shoot him when they confronted him, so don't think he has it in him to shoot Luke. The girls are going to make Luke pay for what he did, so maybe Megan luring him to the cabin and she and Isabella going pretend to get with him at the same time and then something happened. In the promo they did say they have to get their stories straight. See why I didn't like Jeff. Also I like the way Brent is with Megan. See he really cares for her. Next week, finally Debbie steps up. Great. I does get a feeling Brent likes Megan or they had a fling, when they pretended to frighten Luke. Luke talks about being with two of them at the same time so maybe that is what they going and pretend to do and then something goes wrong.

I read this book in 2007 called ‘The Bitch Posse’ and it reminds me of the ending of that book… the three best girl friends try to get back at a guy for getting one of the girls pregnant (he was a married teacher and she was his student) and they got alcohol and drugs and went out to an abandoned shack and their purpose was to lure him into a 4some and he was all into it until one of the girls pulled out a knife and the whole plan was to carve his wife’s name into his skin and there was an accident where he tried to escape and the knife accidentally plunged into him, killing him. The two other girls ran off, cops pulled up and only one girl took the fall. I remember thinking about how similar this whole plot line is, to that book I read. That’s my theory. I think they lure him back with the intention of making him regret playing them both and then he ends up being killed

I honest think I like both seasons equally. The first season I loved how it wasn’t a murder mystery for once and there was something else that needed to be solved . But with this season being a murder mystery it’s obviously much higher stakes and you have to assume the darkest from each character which is super interesting .

I want to think that it will just be an accident. I think Megan gave him a drink with pills in it so she can tie him up. He seemed loopy in the trailer when she was filming. I think eventually they let him go or he gets away. He goes into the woods all high and doesn’t know where he is. Ned is going crazy cause of it being Y2K and might have thought someone was coming for him and accidentally grazed Luke’s ear. I then think Luke eventually runs off a cliff accidentally and into the water. Or maybe he hides in the water to get away from Ned but ultimately drowns.

Remember Ned turned off the monitors the cameras were on when Megan first came down into is computer room. That's why she didn't notice them. To me Brent didn't look nervous, he seemed more like he just picked up on something his dad said that's making him question his dad.

I think I know how this is gonna go, we’re gonna figure that someone “killed” luke and meant to do it but he survived and faked his death somehow because it doesn’t make sense how his body was recognizable and they never actually showed his body when he was dead and I feel like that’s something they could’ve easily done but they didn’t for a reason and it’s because it’s not his body. Idk the logistics but that’s the loose theory I have. I honestly have so many theory’s that I feel strongly about tho and they’re all kinda different. I think Luke could’ve attempted suicide after being humiliated by the girls and the girls are trying to cover that up because they feel responsible for his death but one of them actually could’ve saved him but let him die. Idk, I just got so many different ideas.

I also gotta say I like this season more than last season because last seasons twists were good but I don’t feel like they came out of left field or anything, this season definitely feels a it more like a mystery and I actually love it. And we’re dealing with a dead person (or so we think) so it adds a different dimension that last season didn’t have because the victim was alive in the later timeline. I like the murder mystery of this season a little more.

I think the walkie talkies become important in the end where Luke is communicating with Megan or someone else on it to give him updates on what is going on while he is hiding and at the end the are going to meet up at the end at a secret location. But if he didn’t die what is the end game they can’t collect insurance money unless he bought his own life insurance and named Megan beneficiary but I would find it very suspicious if I were a cop to see that he named Megan on the life insurance instead of family unless he named the baby. But we are under the impression that she lost the baby so maybe he named the brother and is helping them build a new life by collecting the money.

I think Brent looks guilty because he and Megan were hacking into Steve's stuff. Brent's speech about still being guilty in Steve's eyes even when you're right seemed to be about something that actually happened and maybe Brent was working with Megan to get something on him. Debbie's comment in the promo suggests she knows something about Steve. The promo also answers the question as to why Luke had drugs in his system (he looks drugged on the bed). Is Y2K involved somehow? The introduction of the two way radios and a comment about the "Sheriff's radio frequencies" being disturbed might be relevant. As in, they leave Luke in the woods alone to figure out how to get out but leave him a radio thinking that's how they can find him, but the radio doesn't work and something happens from there.

No one will probably see this but I got 2 very random theories 1. Ned and Steve have more of a history than we know, more than just neighbors 2. Brent and Megan had something going on. That look when he gave her when she was running away from Ned's was as if he was singling for her to follow him so that they could go off and do something (maybe I just imagined it)

So I think he may have several run ins that night. I think they tie him up, make him admit his lie and Isabella may drug him secretly. Isabella may pull a gun on him and it accidentally goes off grazing him(Megan has good aim). They leave him overnight, only to find him missing the next day when Megan returns. When they leave he is then confronted by his real killer, but I think he may get away and end up on Neds property who takes a shot at him missing. he then makes it to the lake where he jumps in and drowns or someone does it. because they took him hostage they feel responsible which is why they tried to "get their story straight" He had bad run ins with them all and it could make them all feel and look guilty. At this point there's motive from Megan, Isabella, Jeff, The Dad, and the neighbor. I think Megan and Isabella are innocent though, I think that Megan is only hiding her part in the tying him up and Isabella drugging/grazing him. Water is proven to slow decomposition which could make him recognizable by his dad. At first, I thought that maybe the brother or Ned was hiding him and helped him fake his death somehow, but there are several reasons i think he is dead: 1. Father recognizes him 2. I'm sure by this point, autopsy, Dental records, and DNA testing were done confirming him. They also can tell when he died so they know it was NYE 3. What reason would he have to go through those extremes? We know: 1. Megan kidnapped him and judging by their convo they left him there and could not have collaborated to kill him together. 2. We know Isabella had the pills that was found in his system during autopsy meaning he did die that night being it was 7 months before and the liver and bones have traces of medicine levels 3. We know he was shot with his father's gun with the girls prints 4. We know he has no sense of direction in the woods and last time he escaped the only place he could make was the lake where he as found. Megan scrubbed the cabin because most likely she miscarried at a later date at the cabin from the stress and guilt causing her to change or took an abortion pill in order to make it to college. OR she had the baby early and it died there. Idk I feel the last episodes will be much more exciting but we wont know everyone's true guilt until the very end. His brother def knows something. My top suspects are the dad and his brother who may have witnessed or helped, his brother solely did it by accident, or Isabellas ex who maybe killed him to frame Isabella for his sister's death or he killed them both to eliminate anything in the way of their love. Lastly i think Isabella recorded released the tape planning to take blame and win her over. It comes out which is why she hates her in 2000

My theory is if Megan got the camera maybe she found it in the cabin and realized that Luke was the one who did the recoding in the first place. Which is also another thing she would ask him in the next episode. I think that Luke recorded the tape between him and Megan and had it play at his fathers party on purpose. It would ruin his father’s credibility and maybe get him out of doing the police academy and finally be able to do what he wants. Soon his father starts to slowly figures it out and threatens Luke. Which makes him scared wanting to retaliate. Ultimately, Luke’s dad accidentally kills him and from his guilt he throws the body in the lake and hopes no one ever finds him but to keep his image in the town he has to play worried father. Because how was the father able to identify Luke’s body so quickly? When someone drowns for a very long time and in the show it was months that would mean that Luke’s body is deformed, unidentifiable. The father probably knew it was Luke because he already knew Luke was dead to begin with and with his reputation in town he’s basically in charge of the police station to burn and lose any evidence against him and has the money to pin it on “ weird Ned “. Leaving with him getting away with his own son’s death and leaving him clean.

I actually feel like Brent is a good person, he just seemed and acted like an asshole. I think he is scared for Megan and scared of his dad...but I could also see maybe Megan and Isabella leaving Luke and then Brent finding him and something happened and he thought he was dead or something like he did what he did to protect Megan and Isabella or just Megan...If it is Brent I don't think he had any ill will cause he seems like a nice guy now...but I still feel like they could make us think one thing and then at the end Isabella actually did something like with Jeanette in season 1 which would be stupid this time around

I remeber in the first trailer for the show a clip of Isabella burning a tape in the woods. I bet that’s what the tape was in the first place. Idk Brent feels guilty but I like him and want him to end up with Meghan. I’m calling it now-Isabella does something more on purpose to kill Luke but gets away in the end bc nobody knows and the last clip we’ll see is the truth she knows only and her getting away with it with a grin.

There's too many things to be explained in that season that I'm afraid that the end is not going to be soooo good after all (hopefully I'm wrong). Isabella's life is still very weird to me, there's that floppy disc and the Lisa situation to be clarified. I was dying to know what Parker said to the sheriff and if she is Isabella's friend or maybe they had a thing for each other. And what in h3ll happened to Megan's lil sister? It seem that she was only an extra in the cast (or maybe the twist could be around her). Ned is now acting really creepy, but maybe he's just scared of everything or has some traumas (I think he's harmless). Luke's brother is trying to act as a nice person but he doesn't fool me, I think he's hiding something. Luke's father is acting as an douch (and he is), but I don't think he has anything to do with Luke's death. And what kind of deal he has with the sheriff? Megan's mother is the same thing as nothing in this show... Too many questions and not too many episodes left.

What if the video is on her laptop of what they did to him at the lodge. Maybe Meagan went too far, Luke got scared and Isabella helped him get away from the lodge. While he was in the forest he was shot by Ned.. Brent probably found him and they tried to help him but Ned chased him off and Ned realized who it was that he shot 😬 after he attempted to help him, he died. So maybe Ned promised Meagan assistance to get record erased and back into school if she gets rid of the body🥴🥴

Maybe theres another brent secret. Maybe luke told them so they can let him go. Maybe when brent leaked the film and then Luke felt a way out to tell so he told. But maybe as soon as they let him go he takes them to get something of brents and then run into him at the forest. Maybe isabella didnt want to involve herself so only Megan and luke went. Megan maybe saw a fight and then witnessed it happening. Or it could be the dad in place of brent.

I like how we still don’t even know who exploited the sex tape of Luke and Megan at the Christmas party and I hope they reveal it soon. Theory: since we r seeing a different side of Luke after this episode, I wonder if Luke purposely was the one who leaked the tape. Don’t know the why, but could be a possibility. Could be in the next episode we get a little more info about who finally did it and why, could be an interesting plot twist if luke was the one. I hate to see this season end on all being one big accident for lukes death on revenge from the girls. This season could redeem itself with a plot twist tht no one was not expecting. The title for episode 9 literally uses the word ‘miseducation’ (I’d looked tht up when the first two episodes of the season premiered it was revealed very early on), maybe there’s things about Luke we haven’t thought of and probably ignored without realizing this whole time.

While I am enjoying Cruel Summer season 2 one thing does put it a little bit lower than season 1. I don't believe that Megan and Isabella are really friends which takes a lot of the tension out of the story. From the start of episode 1 their relationship simply isn't believable. I'll stay with the show until it ends, and perhaps the last episodes will change my mind, but right now this season comes off as a little thin.

I kind of feel the same way. But, maybe that's the intention. That their friendship being so strong in a short amount of time could reflect that people can become too close with each other that it leads to trouble (such as Luke's death). Other than that, I still think this season is good. Season one is just stronger. With three episodes left, I'm thinking that's when the big bombs are going to come in. It's a matter of build up like the last season, but in a different manner in my opinion. We'll just have to wait and see.

@@Wkumar07 With her dad not really being in the picture and what happened between him and her mom, maybe that's one of the reasons why Megan isn't as likable. Parents do play a huge role in not only influencing their kids, but also their actions affecting them as well. I mean I still like Megan, but, I don't think we see enough of her sticking up for Isabella (besides with Luke, but still). The last few episodes might change things, though.

This is my theory but I’m sure I’m wrong 1.the girls plot a revenge plan and things get out of hand 2.even though the plot got out of hand,still I think Luke is still alive and his dad and the cop knows he is but Steve is trying to act like he really is dead as well as the cop cuz steve probably was gonna blackmail the cop if he didn’t keep his mouth shut cuz he knew the sheriff was at the bar that night and was gonna use that to blackmail him for not doing anything about it right then.2.the sheriff and Steve knows like is still alive but they r acting like he really is dead just to teach the girls and everyone else involved a lesson.cuz I think it’s kinda weird how only Steve saw the body and no one else and not to mention they still haven’t did a autopsy report or anything to let us know more info so I think he knows it’s not his son but he is acting like it is but instead it’s someone else’s body.3.or Luke faked his own death and his dad and sheriff knows he’s not dead but everyone else thinks he is I don’t know why but I feel like Luke is still alive for some reason.I could be wrong about this theory but I guess I thought I would share mine like everyone else is on theirs.this is just so much fun trying to figure everything out.I love mystery stories😊

Me too. Season one had its slow points, but season two feels like a huge build up to the last three episodes. Which while build up is good, people won't be as invested if it's too long and might tune out before the last three air.

Megan's corruption is really the heart of this show She does all this questionable stuff and whines that if this or that gets out she will lose her scholarship. Then stop doing stupid stuff and own up to your mistakes! I predict that Isabella who has already ratted on her a few times to Debbie and likely killed Kyle will have Megan's life. Megan is going down for Kyle's murder. See ya later, mean girl. This show can drag but you condense it and make it seem more compelling than it actually is. I may skip the show and just watch your reviews.

This season has been soooooo boring. The entire season has just been a long wait to see who murdered Luke and why and how. Its like literally 9 hours of filler. I dont get it. Season 1 was soo damn good, and this season I just keep watching and praying its going to get good and reveal something interesting, but again nothing. Now with only 2 episodes left, its official this season SUCKED! Even if episode 10 turns out to be unreal it cant make up for 9 episodes of boring time killing lame television!
