On a cruise last year I had stayed overnight the previous night but check out was like 11am, so I headed over to the ship at 10:30 even though my arrival time wasn't till 3pm. They let me on but I couldn't get into my cabin or get a drink haha

Glad you got on. Typically they don't have the cabins ready till after 1:00 but it does vary by ship and the order they get them cleaned up.
