We are Australians, currently on the Crown Princess and we, along with many other passengers and the wonderful staff helped escort the older and less mobile passengers to shore. It was an adventure for sure!

This past year we took 2 Carnival Splendor cruises, 1 Royal Princess cruise and 4 different cruises for a total of 144 days on Coral Princess (including a world cruise) out of Australia. The best thing? Cruises from Australia do not allow ANY smoking indoors. Churchill’s is a smoke-free reading room. And playing in the casino is downright wonderful.

Jason! We just got back to Canada last weekend having done B2Bs on Celebrity Edge out of Sydney! We did N&S New Zealand Islands before heading to Tasmania, Kangaroo Island, Adelaide and Melbourne. The beach in the Video is Gorgeous and right next to the Tender dock. We walked it end to end in the beautiful Sand. Major tip for all. If going to Kangaroo Island…BOOK AN EXCURSION prior to arrival!..very little offered in Penneshaw. Car rentals disappeared ( those that were not prebooked)…and virtually nothing to do. The beach however is a nice quiet break, waters warm and the beer at the Penneshaw hotel was ice cold!

We were on a cruise with Princess in Guernsey and five tenders were is use. The sea got very rough and consequently the ship's tender dock closed. The tenders were over an hour simply in a hold pattern whilst they moved the ship to put the dock in a leeward aspect. One of the tenders ran out of fuel and was left bobbing about until a solution was found. No harm done.

A We loved it. The secret is to break it up. We did 3 cruises and a liveaboard (we cruise to scuba dive). We did a cruise, then 4 days on land, cruise, land, cruise land, liveaboard. 45 days all together. The cruises were New Zealand, south Pacific, and Great Barrier (which was really just Australia gold coast). Would definitely do it again.

Yes, almost all of our cruises have departed from Australia. We have cruised with holland America, carnival, P&O, and Princess. The Australian cruise scene is currently very dynamic as cruise companies negotiate with various state and territory governments. Sydney seems to be the main departure point but Brisbane also chimes in. Main destinations are NZ, pacific islands and various around Australia. Several will take you all the way around Australia. You get to see a very varied itinerary.

We did a Princess Cruise in 2023 departing Melbourne and visiting South Australia and Kangaroo Island. It was our first cruise. We had no idea what tendering was and loved jumping on the tender boat to get onto the shore at Kangaroo Island. We had no issues and the whole experience was part of the adventure 😊

The tender I was in lost power on 12/19/22. Port was Cabo San Lucas on the Royal Princess. We floaters around for about 30+ mins and the pilot finally got 1 engine going. When we made it back to ship and passengers panicked and jumped the gap between tender and ship. It was scary and a miracle that someone wasn’t injured. I think Princess gave us $50.00 each as compensation.

A. Hi Jason, I’m from Australia and did an around Australia cruise last year in March. This was on the Princess Majestic and was awesome and that is the best time to do it as it’s after the wet season and before winter. We never had any problems while cruising. There is so much to see around Australia. My favourite would be getting off at Airley Beach and to visit the Barron Gorge and sky lift.

We have cruised from Brisbane to P.NG, N.Z, Cairns, Japan return, Fiji and New Caledonia. Also cruised from Sydney to Fiji, and Japan this year and to Hawaii return last year. Note Brisbane Port is new and about 1 hour by car from the city and located at the sewage outlet. Sydney port is walking distance to the C.B.D, Opera house, Gardens with a tourist train that goes around and harbour bridge. Also center point tower for 360 deg views. We have cruised into Darwin twice on our way overseas. It is the capital of the Northern Territory and close to P.NG. The city is a short walk from the ship. We have lived there. It offers out back exploring approximately 2 hours by car from the city. I hope this helps. We have only cruised with Princess 17 times.

Woo hoo yes I have done a cruise in Australia. Living here I have done many. I think the best one for visitors would be 🤔 all the way around if you can afford it because Australia is so different in every state. Plus it is so far from everywhere you need to make the most of the distance you have travelled. If you don’t have long here or limited $$ I think Sydney through the Whitsunday’s up the east coast to cairns. The Great Barrier Reef is something not to be missed. We have seen many beaches including Tahiti and none are like our reef. If you come please arrange a meet up in Sydney with some of your fans. 💖 Michelle

Yes we live in Australia and have done many cruises around Australia and up and down the East coast as well as 28 day cruise around to see the West and North of Australia The county is so varied so it depends on what you like. Go north from Sydney particularly if you want to see the Barrier reef and do water experiences as well as see the State capital cities. Go south for beautiful scenic wildernesses, whales and dolphins and wild life. Top it off with a cruise to New Zealand for more amazing places. Most capital cities have zoos if you want to see kangaroos and koalas! So much diversity across the country. Can’t summarise it well enough here.

Loved Australia. Go to New Zealand also. Long flights. We lucked out that there was a repositioning cruise going from Sydney to Seattle. So we did a cruise around New Zealand. One around Australia and then one back to the states. So we only had one long flight. Make sure you get to a wildlife park where you can walk among the animals like kangaroos. Go see the Hobbit location in New Zealand. I picked the wrong one and saw where movie scenes were made but no Hobbit locations. Try pavlova it’s my favorite dessert. Remember they drive and walk on the opposite side so on the ship they walk on the left.

I have been on a ten day cruise out of Sydney to the Great Barrier Reef. It was a Carnival Cruise Ship. Out tender ran aground on a sandbar at Port Douglas. They wiggled off the bar and continued in VERY choppy water. The food selection was poor, they said the menu was based on Australian taste. The Splendor went into dry dock following our cruise.

My daughter and granddaughter, who are Australian, went on a Carnival cruise and have said never again as the food was disgusting. I think if you went to Australian restaurants or even cafes or pubs you would fine it’s not Australian taste just poor food and preparation on Carnival.
