@@johnintenn1052I’ve got platinum with Carnival so a lot of days on board and actually got caught in the middle of a fight during a comedy show while in Alaska. Flying fists, flying barware, the whole thing. Carnival to Alaska is comparable to Princess in caliber of clientele but this was crazy! And nothing happened to the people!

Most everywhere you travel these days you get free WiFi. Premium cruise lines include it in their fares. I think WiFi should be included as "standard equipment" on a cruise.

I watched the video you posted and saw the fight. What I didn't see was Security staff . It really is a free for all whenever people want to fight. I would not take short cruise because there are too many drunk people. I have noticed that all cruise staff choose to ignore bad behavior and that's how it all escalates.

I would prefer: A- Fratuities! I don't understand why some people refuse to pay gratuities! They can easily pay $20 daily for a fancy sugar loaded, coffee depleted fancy drink, but they can throw a fit because they have to pay $17 daily for a clean cabin, clean towels, room service, waiter services around the ship, free food, free entertainment, embarkation and desmbarkation processes. 🙄

A. Gratuities included which will now be an all inclusive base price with no extra hidden fee. I rather not deal with the add on charge on your onboard bill if any.

I have really liked all my Carnival cruises and never seen any fights or anything close. But their security needs to be more visible and proactive. They also need to make it clear when they instill consequences. Let others see the trouble makers getting put off the ship. Maybe people will shape up if they realize there are real consequences.

A-Gratuities- Wifi is sometimes included in the drink packages like on Princess Cruises. And I can always decide if I want it or not. But the gratuities being added in the total cruise fare with taxes and fees is what we need!!

Neither, as I think they should both be optional. Tipping should be based on quality of services received, which varies widely in my experience and is obviously not known when tips are included. WiFi is not something everyone wants or needs, so it should also be optional.

I don’t have many opportunities to cruise as often as I would like so, when my wife and I get the chance to go on a cruise I would rather have the gratuities included in the price of the fare. The Wi-Fi package isn’t that big a deal to us as we’re trying to escape being connected to everyone if only for a week.

Cruises are for 3 kinds of people only. 1) the newlywed 2)the overfed 3) the almost dead End of list If you don’t fall into these categories just know you are agreeing to be locked in a Walmart for 5 straight days with all of the typical shoppers and that’s your vacation. Gratuities should not be mandatory... pay all employees fair wages and let us decide if we want to tip for exceptional service. (I feel the same for restaurants, and now many are adding additional surcharges for non-tipped employees 😮 owner should pay them a fair wage and price menu accordingly, imho). Definitely include wifi in the fare.

fair wage based on the ships flag of origin? The home cruise port? The islands it visits. The nationality of the server (lots from Philippians) My last ship had a Bahamian flag, they increased minimum wage to $260 per week (37 a day based on 7 day week or $4.60 per hr for 8hr shift). Guessing that is less than what they are making..btw lodging and food included. My neice served on Disney Cruise ship and rarely spent any money for her 2yr term..almost all of it went in the bank/paid off loans...granted they work long hours/days..

Be realistic, no business that relies on tips to cover part of wages is going to just make up that difference without a revenue increase to cover it. That means higher prices. And unless there is a single day when all tipping stops, whoever makes the first move is going to be at a disadvantage for people who shop by advertised price (which is a LOT of people, or they wouldn't advertise prices).

Today's shirt : 9.9/10. My opinion on gratuities, charge me an extra hundred and make tips what they are supposed to be. An extra reward for exceptional service. If it's mandatory then it isn't a tip.

I just returned from a 12 day cruise on P&O's Adventure of the seas. We had on our level (level 11) where an aircon unit blew up, leaving 4 inside and four balcony rooms full of smoke. Two inside cabins had to be relocated.

We loved the short cheap carnival cruises but left them behind due to a certain demographic and their inability to act civilized in public. After several family fights breaking out and children running up and down the hallways slamming doors at 2:00 am with no parents in sight we had enough and said no more carnival cruises. Now on carnivals behalf they are trying to control the mobs. We had a packed dance floor with 80's music that was stopped cold on the hour and cleared out to make way an hour later for some hip hop rap music dance time. Carnival had at least 6 armed guards at the door while the place was packed with those who would like vulgar rap music. There was not a single guard at the 80's dance time. There were also armed guards at the basketball court. Carnival needs to raise prices at least $500 per cabin before we return....

I am really upset because today I received a notification that my Carnival Vista Cruise has been canceled, I was scheduled to sail next Saturday September 7th they had the ship in dry dock for a month between January and February and that's when they should have spent the money and fix the problem permanently because they had propulsion issues prior to dry dock but obviously somebody made the money saving decision to just slap a Band-Aid on it and now they have to pull the ship from service because they didn't do the right thing and fixed the problem permanently when the ship was in Dry Dock

Carnival thrives on quantity of passengers, and MOST definitely *NOT* the quality of their passengers. I worked as en entertainer on the cruise for nearly four years on the Disney Magic, and we use to say “there goes the QUEEN ship” every time we saw a Carnival ship… 😂

Thanks for your reply. I also cruise princess. I don't mind the included gratuities because it takes the stress of carrying cash and figuring out who to tip and what amount to give. Most of them work hard, so if they split the money equally, then I'm satisfied and gives me something less to worry about while I'm trying to relax.

Both A and B because it would be easier to have the gratuities included in the price of the cruise. That way it would take it out of the negotiation because if it's a set price then nobody would have to think about it and they couldn't be removed. Everyone uses the Wi-Fi and if they just made it a standard part of the cruise nobody would be complaining about the price because it varies so much it would just be one of the perks making it easier!

It’s a little strange that it one dollar difference per day from interior to suite cabins for tips,one cabin is tiny AF and the suites not so much. And cost per day is substantially different,so you think the larger cabins that take more time and money to clean should be a little more.

Just went on a princess cruise. I didn't pay the wifi fee. Instead, I paid for an international plan on my cell phone. I couldn't use it while out to sea, but that was no big deal. I could use my phone at each destination all I wanted......and I saved alot of $$$.

Most of the brawls in Carnival occur at 1) the nightclub, 2) food/pizza locations, and 3) pool deck. While I have seen increased security on these areas, they need to beef up security at these locations. Carnival can also add in their app a reporting feature where passers by can press an “assist” button to have the security detail dispatched to that location. This would be a security feature that any guest can use to increase the presence of security if a situation warrants the added security measures. Just by pressing the “security” button in the app, Carnival can pinpoint the location of where help is needed. This feature is about maximizing resources to a location before things get out of hand. Sometimes, the mere presence of security personnel acts as a deterrence. Also, I feel that the security personnel should carry cameras in their body like police which is activated automatically if there is a commotion. It just adds a level of security in case evidence is necessary.
