Wifi is expensive!!! Outrageous for what you receive!

OK, I just figured out why I like your content. You didn’t really give me any new information I hadn’t heard, but your English is impeccable. Because you’re a teacher. Some Cruise commenters make such horrific English errors that I am shocked that they’re comfortable posting online.

RCCL had 2 electrical plugs on vanity. To get cpap power RCCL put their extension cord from vanity up over top of bed with metal (magnetic) hooks. Could not believe they didn’t have USB’s on lamps by bed. BTW, RCCL was $30/day for Wi-Fi, incredible rip-off.
@cruisingfromtheozarksАй бұрын
@@rosemarybedosky146 I have yet to sail RCCL, but their packages are much higher than other lines. The few lines that are higher have bundles available that massively lower the cost of things like WiFi, drink packages and specialty dining.

What are they going to do next year when T-Mobile starts using starlink on all their devices?
@cruisingfromtheozarksАй бұрын
I haven't looked into this at all since T-Mobile doesn't work where I live, so I am not sure exactly how it will work.
@absentmindedjwcАй бұрын
Not much they can do, tbh. They're not going to ban phones.
@chandmandesigns8875Ай бұрын
@cruisingfromtheozarks Yeah, that won't be the case when this unveils next year.

I have a European multiplug that connects directly into the plug. That way I can utilize European plugs and USB. It dosent have a cord, so I believe Royal will still allow it. Another great Amazon find 😁 12:09 Yep, having a video of that would have been really fun 😂

I just got a European converter that has USB A&C ports on Amazon for our post cruise stay in Pertugal.

I have one of those as well that I used on my recent vacation. Mine has North America, UK and Europe socket options.
@wendys6438Ай бұрын
A USB hub will be just fine. They are worried about the sockets which draw more power than USB ports. I have a USB hub that's gone all over the world with me now, I just throw a converter in my bag when we go outside of the US. Its weird that they are banning satellite dishes and lumping Starlink receivers in with that. Having a receiver doesn't impact ship-to-shore communications like some radio signals can. The cruise lines are in for a very big surprise once the Starlink/T-mobile service is turned on and everyone will have access to text, voice, and data anywhere in the world, including at sea for no additional cost and no new equipment (Samsung phones and iPhones for the last few years for sure already have satellite receivers built in, knowing that satellite service is coming any day now and they don't want to require customers to get new devices on day one rollout of the new network). 🤷🏼♀️

The Starlink Mini is a satellite dish; it is just small and square. I am not sure if the "router" is part of the dish or the power pack as there doesn't look to be a separate device like the standard Starlink set up. As for T-Mobile, I haven't looked into that at all since their service doesn't work in my area. If it will work out in the ocean, that may affect cruise line's bottom line when it comes to wifi packages.

What happens to people with C paps.

In the past, you could ask for a extension cord if you needed one, so I assume that will be the standard going forward.
