Cruise Ship vs. Land Life: Which Offers More Personal Time?

I loved working on a cruise ship. Nothing else to worry about on my time off. I was fed, given a bed, saw gorgeous places and even enjoyed doing laundry, didn’t need to spend much. For me it was very much a working holiday and I never felt tired as I did on land as a teacher. I’m older and my kids stayed with my ex so I loved it. 2 hours off at lunch, I’d just get changed and sunbathe on crew deck. Port days I’d get up early and explore before starting work at 2. Bliss!

Can you do a video of how you are adjusting from so long working on cruise ships to now being on land? I just completed my first contract and am less than 1 week into my vacation and I don’t know how I’ll ever go back to ‘normal’ life

Listening in an iPad and you sound clear and volume is good. As far as time, even though a work day on land is only 9 to 10 hours, there’s also typically a commute which can add an hour or two to the total.

Mic is top notch.. The truth is you experienced what wealthy people have.. You didn't clean your clothes, you didn't clean your room, you didn't cook or did the dishes... It was allocated to someone else so ''freeing up'' more time for you for leisure! The difference now is that you have to do it Vs someone is payed to do it for you. Hence the when I was on a ship, It felt like I had more time.

Lucy, the sound is loud (turned down my laptop level to 10%) and your voice is clear (but you should work on room acoustics). Love that you find "more crap" to do onshore, Ha ha! That's life on-shore for most people these days. 😀Perhaps you'll think about working on-board (for 1/2 the year), next year? (advantageous to your youtube channel as well?) Fair winds sweetie! P.S. Remember even as an adult, you CAN still live a fun adventurous life (without too much "crap")...I do and my late Mom did for almost 103 years!! 😀

I like the sound this is Edward from Toronto I loved I love cruising on a cruise ship but I haven't been on a cruise but this is really nice being able to know but it's like working on a cruise ship so my interact with them I can make their lives as better as possible by just being me and just being nice because it's kind of stressful you know being an employee on a cruise ship but anyways you take care and by the way you look fabulous take care
