Fun fact: Prior to Hurricane Iniki hitting Kauai in 1992 there were no feral chickens running around. The winds from the storm blew down the chicken coops all over the island and the chickens got out and started breeding. :)

I visited Maui and absolutely loved it! I didn't want to see tall buildings or be in the city, hence I choose Maui. It was just like Kona. Just sea, sky and trees! The most relaxing vacation EVER!!!

We loved Kona on our last Hawaii cruise. Our favorite island. One thing I LOVE when in Hawaii is a shaved ice. Most places in the states at least, its not a shaved ice its a snow cone.

Been to Hawaii twice and sailed back to Australia on Radiance of the Seas. Also did Pride of America once. Had the best time ever, freakin love Hawaii. I also love how they care for the reefs and coral, the tour operators need to be applauded for this.

Kauai is the most beautiful place I have been to on this planet, so far. It’s a favorite so we try to go every other year or so. There are still a lot of places I want to see but Kauai is so amazing it just keeps pulling me back. I love that you also loved it ❤

thanks for ringing my memory bells for Hawaii. I think it's been about 25 years since we were there last on a couple of different trips, including a cruise. Waimea Canyon is one of the rainiest places on earth, which is why it is so green and beautiful. I love the island of Kauai, the garden isle, which is where we first learned to snorkel. We are 75 and 82 now so may not get back there, but through your videos I had a wonderful trip.

We lived on Big Island in Waikoloa, and it was less expensive then living in La Jolla CA. Only milk and eggs were more expensive. This was 2015-2017.

@@bz8047 Omg, Princess was so much better! The Star Princess has a fantastic promenade deck that no other ship can top. Movies Under the Stars was a blast! The people were mature but a lot of fun! The ship was a bit dated but very easy to navigate. We had an extended balcony that was half covered and half exposed - we even brough our own hammock which was lovely. HAL was a a Covid infected cruise. No one washed their hands and my husband and I both contracted Covid before we got back. We're in our 60s and we were by far the youngest people on the ship! LOL. There's nothing wrong with that, except that the people were rude and never excused themselves when they would bump or fall into you. The ship (Koningsdam) was very unpleasant. Low ceilings, no central atrium or meeting place, small staterooms. The Music Walk was very disappointing. Except for the jazz band, the rest of the music was lackluster and uninteresting. We were so looking forward to trying HAL but will likely never cruise with them again.

I love the ABC Stores. I used to go in them all the time. I've been to Hawaii 5 times, I used to work for an airline that flew to HNL and OGG. It's one of my favourite destinations. The Waimea Canyon is one of my favourite spots, it does look like a painting as you say. I am contemplating a cruise from Vancouver to Hawaii in 2025.

You said exactly what I tell people when they'd ask me about Hawaii, Oahu we nickname the mini-mainland because there is a lot going on and lots of city everywhere and while you can find some amazing areas on Oahu, the Hawaii most people have in their mind is one of the outer islands like Maui, Kauai, or Big Island. They're much more laid back and great for relaxing and enjoying nature.

Having stayed in the same cabin, I can attest to the NOISE right above it. Turns out, the room sits right under Onda's kitchen area. Cabins on the 11th deck are great, and close to everything. But if you have the choice, go with deck 10, or deck 11 midship.

Hey Guys, I love the Spirit (sailed on her 9 times) but haven't had chance since she left Europe. Any road up, as we say in the Black Country, here is a tip for you. Never sail on Deck 11 of the Spirit. ln fact, on any cruisline make sure you book a cabin with cabins above and cabins below if you want a good nights sleep. Deck 10 is my choice everytime.

We were in the Hawaiian Islands on our Grand Pacific cruise in April. Loved Kauai. We were on a ships excursion and had an amazing driver/guide who was a native of the island. She had amazing stories and told us lots about the "forbidden island" where her grandmother lives. It was to the Grand Canyon of the Pacific as well. Worth the trip. Did you get your room changed? We were under the dining room once, requested a change in room as it was unbearably noisy.

We did the same road-trip on Kauai and stood at those viewing point at Waimea Canyon and thought it couldn’t be real just like you. It was amazing. Have never cruised Hawaii, but have been fortunate to have visited most of the islands over the years with my family growing up.. Think I mentioned on another of your vlogs that we're going on the transpacific repositioning cruise on quantum of the seas end of April. Unfortunately only one stop in Kona and that's an overnight. They brought back many feelings and memories of my visits over the years, and I’m currently yearning for the Kona coffee I first experienced there in the ‘80’s. Kona, on the Hawaii, and all of Kauai, are my favorite places! It’s time to go back!!! (I love Alaska, too, having been many times, even attending the Iditarod twice, but that’s not what this video is about!😁) I enjoy you guys immensely…thank you!!! Lois🥰

They did 3 live shows and had 2 guests that did different shows.

We had a really noisy cabin on a cruise ship a few years ago. We reported the noise and were told it was standard noise that you'd expect on a cruise ship. It was awful. We didn't realise until we got back and posted online about it that someone else who had travelled in the same cabin and had the same problem pointed out that our cabin was directly above the promenade deck door to the smoking area and that it was the doors banging when people went out to smoke.

Omg just been on odyssey of the seas, we were on deck 12 Aft and had the exact same issue. Omg guys, it’s not hangers, it’s horrendous!! Sounds like trolleys/suitcases being pulled then something heavy being dropped out. If you discover what it is, please share. Love you guys x

I just absolutely adore you two this video just warms my heart so much. Having lived in Hawaii for 10 years and visited all of the islands that brings back so many fond beautiful memories. And yes we did do the inter-island cruise when it first started way back in 2004❤

What cabin were you in? I was in 11630 and we were under the Garden Cafe galley so it was 24/7 noise. It sounds like a plane was taking off and landing on top of us, plus the constant rolling sounds, things being dropped and people walking. After not sleeping for the first two nights and trying to sleep off a migraine, Guest Services gave me a separate room to sleep in on a different floor as there were no other balcony rooms to move me to.
