I’ve already watched several times. Crumbs are my favorite thing to sew. I just like looking at your scraps and seeing if I have any of the same pieces. I also like to listen to you talking. I hope you make more crumb videos just sewing and talking about nothing important. It’s like I have a friend sewing with me.

Well, Mira, this was the most amazing surprise! I loved to have listened to your voice (as I told you before I love videos in which people talk) and I think you have such soothing voice, perfect for a tutorial! It doesn’t show any sign of being nervous or hesitant! No one would say it was your first time (even if you had to have done some previous attempts, which is completely normal). I didn’t know English wasn’t your first language and you speak it so well that I thought it was. However when you said that, I tried to guess what’s your first language. Are you German? Because I learnt German for four years (I absolutely loved and still love it, although I forgot most of it, because I don’t speak it) and I think I noticed a little bit of a German accent. I love this crumb quilting. I think I am going to try it by hand, not specifically because I don’t have my sewing machine, but because I have some ideas of how to make it my style 😉 I had already watched some videos on crazy quilting and I was fascinated 😲 I hope you continue doing a voice over, because you sound so calming and nice ♥️💙💚🩷🩵🤎💛💜🤍🧡

I feel so much better about the voice over after reading your truly wonderful comments - thank you so much for all the encouragement!! I think I’ll stick with the voice overs as I feel I can get more information across that way. I might try to record speech at the time of filming as that might feel a bit more natural rather than adding it later, trying to remember what I was thinking at the time lol.. And yes, your guess was correct! I am indeed German 🇩🇪, but have been in the UK for many years now. Not long enough to loose the accent altogether or forget certain words sometimes (and then I can’t remember them in either language 😂🤯🤷♀️). I’m totally looking forward to seeing your hand stitched take on crumb quilting- I’m really intrigued by what you might come up with! I’ll keep a look out on IG.. I know it’ll be beautiful and I hope enjoyable for you to sew! ❤️🙋♀️❤️🙋♀️❤️🪡🧵

@@bluebellhillcrafts I have visited Germany 🇩🇪 three times! Loved the country. I only noticed the accent when you said that English isn’t your first language. I think German people speak English very well. I won’t be making the quilt just now, because I have other projects, but when I do, I’ll tag you 🤗🤗🤗😘😘😘
@bluebellhillcrafts11 ай бұрын
Oh yes, please do tag me! You could start collecting all those scraps in a box as you go through your other projects and sometimes, when you need a break from them you could stitch just a couple of scraps together. That's the beauty of this, you can do as little or as much as you feel like and then put it away again for a while while you work on other things. I sometimes enjoy a bit of crumb quilting when I don't have the energy for something bigger or something I need to concentrate on. Sorting those scraps out and putting them in order is so relaxing and almost therapeutic.. ☺️🪡🧵❤️❤️❤️

Have a wonderful trip and I hope you sneaked a small sewing project into your luggage (along with your watercolours & other crafty bits..)! 🤭😍 I keep a ‘crumb quilting’ bag and chuck all those little scraps in there, sewn together at various stages in the process and every so often I take it out and have a bit of a session. It’s great for a quick sewing ‘fix’ as you can just as easily put it all away again until next time. Have a lovely break and enjoy some rays ☀️😍

This was a very nice video and thank you for inspiring me to go back to my crumb quilt blocks. I kind of learned the method putting two together about the same size of pieces and then you add 4 and then the 6. I think they called it twozies, fourzies, sixzies.,, so on and so on until you reach the black size you want it. But lately I’ve been so into adding tape my pieces that are less than an inch and a half.
