I think part of the reason people underrate Kareem is that so many of his highlights are from when he was in his very late 30's and into his 40's. As effective as Kareem was late in his career he was way better and more active as a young man.

I could watch him hitting skyhooks all day, it's poetry in motion. Kareem's certainly one of the VERY best scorers EVER and he managed to stay - at least - at a good level until he was in his late 30's (plenty of it due to him having the GOAT scoring move)... i cant help but laugh, because of how smooth and silk kareem's moves were, and he would beat with every move, and it didn't even matter how great defense you would play on him, he scores on you almost every time.

Kareem is right up there with Michael as the two best natural scorers ever. Perhaps he, Magic, and Worthy all still in their prime with the right coaching the best trio ever offensively anyway.

70's Kareem was a beast. 80's version was still tough but not as agile, just smarter n knowing he didnt have 2 carry a team any more since he had better quality help w/ Magic & Co. His supporting cast when he got to the Lakers was weak.
