Welcome to my new Crusader Kings 3 let's play series, where we try to establish the Angevin dynasty in Crusader Kings 3. In this episode, we take a look at the first Angevin we will begin with in France. This Crusader Kings 3 Angevin series is using the Tours and Tournaments DLC

Based on my experience so far, tour and tournaments is the kind of expansion that Royal Court should have been. The free update breaths some new life into the game. Grand weddings make me feel more invested in the characters. Tournaments are a great peace time activity. Tours are a great way to stabilize your realm or gain some extra gold.

But is it enough to warrant full DLC price? They should have added societies with it as well

@@HierophanticRose chap, the only thing added for the paid DLC was the tournaments, weddings, and grand feasts. The free part of the update, while not having the tournaments, still has the ability to host feasts and the standard version of hunts (DLC has the falconry), the new travel system for characters, all of the new buildings, massive QoL changes/tweaks, redone character models (they look so much better now) with more clothing choices, new vassal archetypes that actually heavily change how you play, the regent system (which is MASSIVE), and more. Safe to say the free update actually has MORE things then the DLC, lol...the DLC just adds some flavor to that free update, though admittedly missing out on the tournaments is a bummer for those that don't get the DLC as you miss out on some fun activities

@@tevarinvagabond1192 they are all great don’t get me wrong, but boils down to one extra mechanic you need to pay attention to but otherwise highly conditional experiences based on events when they happen. It’s like the Iberian struggle, cool interactions but doesn’t really add much besides and especially if you are not playing a specific play style. UI/UX changes are great welcome though not gonna lie
@tevarinvagabond1192
@tevarinvagabond1192 Жыл бұрын
@@HierophanticRose Huh? The vassal changes alone are a big change to how you have to play...you can't just do one action to make all your vassals like you, the different archetypes mean that doing most actions in-game will make some vassals happy and others unhappy...if you don't manage this, you WILL have vassals rebel constantly. I'm beginning to think you haven't played the update

I've started to really enjoy starting out as a country ruler and slowly working me out. It feels a lot more rewarding than just starting out as a King or Queen and all the hard work's been done for you.

I've used to play that way exclusively for a while, but I've gotten an appreciation for starting out as a king too. It's nice if you're looking to roleplay your characters rather than work towards some goal over generations of characters.

Just started in France so I'll be rewatching these. Will try to leave a like on every video as by the looks of it I neglected that first time through. I'm doing a run as the de Carrouges dynasty. I've had to start in Anjou as Alencon was taken of course by William the Conqueror. Chartres was also out as it's Duchy level as well and I definitely needed to start this run as a Count and in a county that stays French after William's English adventure! Should be fun, I love starting with a more obscure figure. My Robert the Bruce playthrough was great but had of course more goals and constraints. Jean de Carrouges is a bit more of a blank slate so other than loyalty to the French throne I'm pretty free to make decisions based on the characters' personality. Will let you know how it goes!

Loving this series, up to ep 30. You actually inspired me to do a run as Robert the Bruce. His historically accurate start as Robert I, a Norman in Annandale is incredibly interesting to try to pull off, the early game can be very (enjoyably) messy

Not many people over here in the states know of him. I've read a little of his stuff, but I mainly know him from his documentaries Britain's Bloodiest Dynasty as well as Bloodiest Crown....also his Castles series and his team up with Suzannah Lipscomb about the fire of 1666(she also has a great series of Henry VIII and his six queens).

I just found your channel, and I’m so happy that I found another Dan Jones enthusiast! I have all his books, and they’re awesome! If you want the story from a different perspective try reading “A History of English Speaking Peoples” by Winston Churchill. Yes this is THE same Churchill who was PM of England in WW2. There are four volumes in his histories, and the first one goes all the way through Richard III. I absolutely love his style, and it’s a great compliment to Dan Jones’s histories

In my opinion the tours are a bit weak the tourneys make it a s tier dlc. The traveling system is incredible. Accolades are very fun to do and it’s like a mini dynasty legacy you can personal to you. I know what dlcs we have coming up but I’m hoping at one point (next year) that we get a Barons and Bastards dlc that fixes the ranks (since you can ascend to an emperor very very quickly) and a more detailed view for what’s it like to be a bastard/not the main inheritor (this would maybe let’s us play the 3rd or 4th in line to inherit not just the first born/main inheritor all the time)

I was coming in here to say that. One of the best things you can do at the start of the game is find all the unmarried people in your court and marry them to people with useful skills. Even better if you can get spouses with inheritable traits. Thirty/forty years down the line you'll have a supply of people to marry your unlanded cousins to.

I think the stress mechanic is your role play built in you dont have to do what the traits say its like in real life am man may be shy but if he wants a thing he may push himself to be outgoing in a situation in order to do the thing he wants. More realistic role play would be remember you are playing a game of dynasties and play accordingly. not trying to tell you how to play just a random guy throwing out two cents on a youtube comment section
