Dave and Adrian's solos are so great, they give you goosebumps. Masterpieces, Rime of the Accident Mariner, Powerslave, Somewere in Time, Caught Somewhere Time, Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, Alexander the Great, Strangers in a Strange Land, The Clansman, the God of Heavy Metal, all by Steve Harris. Bruce was struggling with his voice, the tumor in his tongue and the passing years, he struggled to extend his voice as we know it, he no longer has the extension of before. Now it will be difficult for him to sing Aces High, as Bruce always said, and it is the most difficult song to sing, even when I was 26, now if we have to sing it they will put it at the beginning of the concert. In fact, you can hear that he has changed his way of singing like Nicko after a stroke, he can no longer do drum fills, they help each other and adapt the songs based on Bruce and Nicko. Sou fanzasso do Maiden, mas achei que essa música teve muita encheção de linguiça. Poderiam tirar muito arranjo dela. Ficou parecendo a fase do Virtual XI na música the Angel and the Gambler, a versão do clipe ficou 100% mas a do CD teve muita coisa sem necessidade. Empire of the clouds is over 18 minutes "long", to me, it's way too short track, could be 30 minutes, i have listened it like 1000 times and not getting tired of it, Maiden can make songs that are not boring no matter how long the track is, what comes to Hell on Earth, maybe Stratego is for you from the new album, if you are "The Trooper" guy

@@penttikeinonen7055 I am not the old-singles-hits guy. I don't like their latest 3-4 albums either. TMOLAD is a good album, except Dickinson's silly Out of the Shadows. Brighter than a thousand Suns is good stuff. It is more diverse than their brand new writings which I find boring and repetitive. Hell on Earth of instance starts with their silly simple chords then goes on to play half of the song instrumental before Bruce starts singing. It sounds flat and boring, no interesting twists, and that's the truth if you're used to listen to a lot of diverse music and knows the craft.

Imagine what an epic that song would have been if all the fat was cut out. I mean the song doesnt really start untill you reach the 2:35 . The atmosperic interlude also between 7:00 and 8:00 really doesnt serve any purpose. And the Outro could be wrapt up in just 30 seconds and dont drag on forever. You got a total of more than 4 minutes of atmosperic nonsense. What a waste of good melodies.

Harris makes boring and unnecessary intros in half his songs now. Easier to just pretend the first minute or two doesn't exist in those. The interlude at 7 minutes obviously serves a purpose and enhances the final section though.

"atmospheric nonsense" is one word you can describe Senjutsu with - if you're not in the mood :D What I sorely miss in this song is the refrain to return once more - imo it's the best refrain/melody the band has ever written.

@@Wikingking I don’t ‘hate’ any Maiden albums but I don’t just lap anything up just because it’s Maiden. I prefer the songwriting on the classic albums up to Seventh Son for sure - there was no filler or need to puff a song out for the sake of being a long song. Sometimes less is more - my point being about the songs becoming predictable and in addition to that, ultimately frustrating to listen to.

The whole Senjutsu album is such a drag and this track well epitomizes it... There is no trace of old Maiden power , straightforwardness and speed of the old days. I might fall asleep...
