Despite being a two-time World Poker Tour champion who mostly plays poker tournaments, I have played many cash games in my time and have learned a lot of valuable lessons that have helped my game. Whether you compete at the micro stakes or are a high stakes crusher, cash games offer poker players a great way to increase their bankroll whether playing poker online or in a poker room.
Today, we study up on cash game strategy and take part in some of my very own interactive quizzes. To beat cash games at any stakes, you must be well studied for when your opponents put you in tough spots. Getting tilted and playing like a maniac will get you nowhere at the poker table, apply the poker tips I share with you today and get ready to crush cash games.
By the end of today’s stream, I want YOU to take this quiz and let me know in the comments how you do: pokercoaching....
As a professional poker player, I need to be able to consistently focus throughout the day. I used to drink a lot of coffee to help with focus, but it would inevitably lead to a crash. Then, I discovered BRÈINFÚEL.
It combines everything you need including natural caffeine, MTC oil, vitamin C, vitamin E and collagen to give long lasting energy in a healthy way that allows you to focus your best all day long.
You can get 15% off at breinfuel.com/... and by using code POKERCOACHING

Perfect timing, been reading up on my cash game strategy, here in Melbourne cash games have a 10% rake but there is no tipping, the players range from abysmal to seasoned regulars in the 1/3 and 2/5 range. Have been playing well lately and got on some lovely tables Friday & Saturday night with some drunk randoms who were pretty much handing me their money

Most profitable tables. Gotta love spots with these spots. The older guys constantly pulling out their $100 bill for another short stack just to punt it off to you are the greatest. I like to calculate my favorite ratios at these tables, the almighty Drink to BB stat- D/Bb and D/Stack ratio. It's like counting cards, except you're counting drinks. You can expect a punt from these dudes about every 4 hands 😂

I’ve seen some bad aggro players become aware when someone is targeting them by grabbing a seat to their left. It makes them mad and tend to want to go after you. Same thing when you complain about them luckboxing, being a fish, etc. They tend to go after you more, and call/raise in spots they shouldn’t either to suck out on you, bluff you off a hand, or extract max value with legit hands using their image

Tonight I put in for a withdrawal on PSMi just to sign up for your top pack on Poker Coaching!! I can’t wait. I’ve been watching your videos since mid August this year (just got back into NLH this year) and my cash graph chart on HM3 literally shows the exact day I started watching/studying, lol. Your content is golden. I’ve humbly turned into a .15c/.30c & .25/.50c CRUSHER thanks to your content!! I can’t wait to take it to the next level with my membership. You rock Mr. Little, you have gained a life time fan and student in me . 😎 Sincerely, your humble prodigy, James Thornton. “JankyJimmy”

John when you talk about making games fun you said, "being a little bit active", how far should you get out of line to do this? Have heard you say this before and could you give some examples of hands you would bet or call with that you would normally fold? For example would you call a 4.5 open out of position with suited connector 100 bb deep or even something bad as JT as to not get a tight image. And how often. These are leaks but figure got to do it sometimes in very active games to not get an overly tight image, or use that image to bluff. How do you do this? You mention this form time to time, but it is a bit hard to figure out how far to go. As you know a lot of these plays are leaks. How out of line do you get?

1/3Got h2h with a player that 3 bet preflop. Pot is at 60 I have A 9 hearts. Flop comes 8 K 7 two hearts and a club. I check he bets for half pot. I call to peel a card. I expect him to have a king. Turn is the 9 of clubs. Two flush draws on the table and I check. He bets out for 45 and I again call. River comes J of clubs. I check and he bets out 30. Seems like a set that wants thin value but afraid of the straight or flush. I rip it all in bluffing with 9s. He thinks a bit and shows his neighbor his card and folds. I ask if he had a set later and he had top set but couldn't beat the straight or flush I floated with...

Seems like the only live tell that has been consistent for me is when less experienced people get the most nervous is a big pot and they have the nuts. Shaking,..face flushed ,etc. You think they would be more nervous while bluffing.

I play at a very loose and splashy home game that runs nightly into morning but with a bigger rake and I tip more definitely a loose fun casual atmosphere 5/5 splashing around. would this be better than a standard 2/5 at a casino with less rake? Talking long term. I haven’t been able to compare win rates.

I am just getting into poker and can not play on regulated sites in my states so my only option in North Carolina is to drive to Cherokee and 1/3 is the lowest stakes cash games they have. At the moment I do not have 10 buy ins or what ever stacked up to play is it ok if I save up acouple max buy ins to go play to get some practice as long as my expectations are a bit low ? I know technically my bank roll management is off but like I said I am new and kind of broke but am obsessed with the game and want to get better

There are two answers to your quiz I think are questionable. I play full ring 25NL on Stars. First, I think a 9bb raise with AQo IP vs. 4 limpers is too big. I know 9bb lays our opponents the correct odds in theory, but my experience is that this big a raise will generate too much fold equity. You want your opponents to continue OOP with ATo or QJo, which they will fold to a 9 bb raise unless they are absolutely awful players. Second, if you flop top 2-pair OOP 3-way on 982 two tone, and you face a bet and a raise, BUT should be fully polarised. I'm really surprised you aren't suggesting calling here and keeping your opponents in with their bluffs/marginal overplayed stuff. Against very good opponents who understand that we can have lots of bluffs here and realise they have to bluff catch with K9, then sure, jamming is great.

@@JTbets81 50 bb at at 1/3 is $150. That is not 20 buyins my man, and that is probably why you confused jonathan. No $150 is not proper bankroll for 1/3. You probably want closer to 1500-3000$

I folded kings on a flop of J 10 9 board it was 3 bet to 50 preflop called to evaluate flop but when he bet 55 dollars on flop I told him if I fold can you show me I folded he shown the table aces!! Most players are not bluffing with 3 bets to 4 bets in small stake cash games nothing you can do when board is low though.
