As a life long Caro Kann player who plays online alot I want to go against this and get crushed time and time again. These titles are silly. The only suprise of late was when someone played against me Ng5...1.e4 c6 2.d4 d5 3.Nc3 de4 4.Ne4 Nd7 5.Ng5. I haven't seen this in a while and have brushed up again on my theory.

Recently got into chess and have been watching a bunch of videos on KZbin, including your content. First time I heard someone say your name, I thought they were literally talking through the screen to me. Now, every time I hear it, I just do one of those “exhale heavily through my nose” mini-laughs. Anyway, keep up the great content man! - Jonathan Shantz

11:52 after black does gxh5, I would suggest Qxh5+. The idea here is to give black the choice of blundering the rook or dealing with another check by way of fxe5+. There doesn’t seem to be much more to do after this, though.

Every other chess video i have seen on the caro kann has only covered the traps. Yours is the only video that actually discusses the opening in detail, and you explain it very very thoroughly. I believe your channel is absolutely the best youtube channel to learn opening theory. I have also learned a lot from your how to play against the london video. So concise and yet detailed. Thank you very much.

As a Caro Kanner, I'd never try bg4, when I have a chance to go classic tartakower version. I guess that this will work only for people who don't know how to proper play caro kann. A rare line that will take space in your mind and wouldn't even be necessary, since you will not use it against a player that know what they're doing

The two knights is full of viscious traps. If you play the Caro as black and your opponent goes into the two knights, the easiest way to face it is 3.. dxe and then 4..Nf6 transposing into a Tartakower-type structure. From there the only remaining trap to look out for is the old Qe2 pin leading to Nd6# trap. So as long as you look out for that you avoid all the shenanigans and just have a normal solid Caro game.
@cominoengenharia
@cominoengenharia 6 ай бұрын
That's it. Simple and effective. Playing tartakower is not a 'crush' for white. And if they're not careful, they can be in trouble after black castle.
