Would you play this gambit / in which situations? Also, need name recommendations!

I’m sticking to the Schliemann. White players run into trouble very readily against it.

I was wondering if this gambit actually had a name. I went to the Lichess opening database and played 3...d5. Lichess calls this the Spanish Counter Gambit which, I think, is a bit of a misnomer since you can only have a *counter* gambit if white is playing a gambit himself - and the Ruy Lopez is certainly not a gambit. It should probably be called the Spanish Counter Attack, just as the Traxler is called a counter attack as the Italian is also not a gambit. The Albin Counter Gambit is used against the Queen's Gambit. The Falkbeer Counter Gambit is used against the King's Gambit. Counter gambits are used against gambits. Counter gambits remind me of a line from the movie Crocodile Dundee. He is being mugged by a knife-wielding hoodlum. Unfazed, Nick pulls out a much bigger knife. "That's not a knife (he shows his much bigger knife). That's a knife." The hoodlum runs away. That's how counter gambits should be played. "That's not a gambit. *THIS* is a gambit!"

after 4. exd5 a6, I find most opponents simply trade bishop for knight, by take the pinned knight with the pawn. This lets them "win" the pawn on e4 after 5. dxc6 axb5, 6. Nxe4... I've looked at this with the fish but you can't really trust the engine when analysing these kinds of gambit positions, as it will always recommend the best line against perfect defence rather than playing for best winning chances vs a flawed human defender. I'll be honest, I can't find a good response to this line so I'd be interested to get your recommendation.

Countergambit really just means gambit played by black not a counter to a gambit, for example the Calabrese counter gambit.
