Ok, so this might be a bit off topic, but it reminds me of a story my aunt told me. When she was a student, Poland (where we are from) was under communist regime and the phones were often under surveillance. So one day, the police (well, equvalent of it, anyway) got informed that university students are talking between themselves on the phones and are making plans for something to happen at 9 p.m. There was suspicion that they are preparing a demonstration and officers were sent to the place that was mentioned in the phone calls. When they got there, one of the windows of the nearby building opened, and a polish song "Umówiłem się z nią na dziewiątą" (I planned to have a date with her at 9) played. So, basically, I don't have much to say but have a story about how my aunt's friends pranked the communist authorities in Poland circa 40 years ago.

What I got from this song: The girl lives in a world which has secrets covered up by some sort of organization. It could be government, military, cult, etc. She was called on the telephone, informed of all these terrible secrets by (presumably) an opposing organization. It could be one person or many. She looked into these things, trying to find out if they were true (hence the line "an obsession to open closed doors") and she noticed people were acting strange around her, suspicious and wrong. She realised that they were starting to figure out she was against them. The girls in a circle could be part of the organization, taunting her with their innocence. I was quite interested in the part where the 'leader' or military style dressed singer said that it's a "call to action" and "for something more" hinting that this could be part of some war being planned or a massive invasion. This could also mean that they called her to RECRUIT her, the girl is terrified and the recruitment team now knows that she is aware of them and needs to be silenced. So, two theories. 1) She was a victim of a random conspiracy call. She was given this information by random. Maybe the caller was trying to throw their own scent off or something was happening and they needed to pass their cause/knowledge onto someone else. 2) She was called as part of a recruitment program from some sort of organization, planning to start and war. She was horrified and refused. They are now attempting to silence her and her paranoia is making her see everyone as suspicious and dangerous. Who knows. I wonder if I'm close LOL.

EDIT: quick disclaimer: I know that this is a 3 part story, I just wanted to pitch in with something small. The story might come together with the rest of the songs, but I felt inspired to theorize with this song instantly. EDIT 2: thanks to crusher-p for giving this a heart! super cool to see that you read this :) EDIT 3: i've revisited the song a few times and this has always been in my mind, but take note to the backing vocals throughout the song. not only is the visual we're given clearly or at least hinted towards rin kagamine, but her backing vocals are there throughout the entire song, almost as if mocking miku for her story. it seems that way to me at least, either rin is mocking miku's story/perspective or perhaps she's been watching miku all along. This song is really creative, so I took some time to come up with a possible theory. The name of the song in and of itself is "propaganda", attempting to make Miku seem like a paranoid lunatic spouting random conspiracy theories. Seeing how Miku's character was designed in this mv, we see how paranoid she looks and many times she repeats the word "fear". This may be both to portray her genuine fear and paranoia, but I believe it contributes more to the suggested idea that Miku is just a lunatic who's spouting conspiracy theories. I believe she works/worked at a low-level facility that takes much bigger part in some sort of scheme. If you're familiar with the SCP foundation this might make more sense. There are low-level lackeys and office workers that work in offices/labs for the SCP foundation that have no idea about the dangerrs being locked away at other facilities in more dangerous and obscure locations. My theory is that Miku works at a place similar to a low-level facility for something possibly similar to the SCP foundation, either as a simple secretary or as a regular office worker. She must have found out more and more as time went on, either from misplaced files or eavesdropping. An alternative to this theory is that the "phone" Miku picked up was a phone call she didn't mean to take. She may be a secretary for an office (my reasoning for the office-working theme is her outfit and the outfits of the other females at the beginning of the mv) and perhaps she listened in on a call her authorities were having (and was caught, since old time wire phones sometimes show that there's a second phone connected to the line), or maybe she was supposed to redirect the caller to her higher ups, but didn't, because her curiosity got the better of herself. Eventually she realized how deep she was in the mess and decided to "run". This may not be literal, but because we're given the imagery of the trees, maybe she was discovered snooping or gave herself away accidentally, and when her higher ups attempted to capture her (either to erase her memory or silence her permanently/otherwise) she ran from the facility. A lot of these SCP facilities are believed to be kept in secret locations, so an "ocean of trees" makes perfect sense. The general facility may be located in a forest of trees that Miku never gave much attention to until she realized what was happening at the facility. I tried to focus this theory less on the general conspiracy theory shtick most theories have when it comes to being paranoid and fearful of believing things told to them by authorities. @@-hamilton-9151 i used the SCP foundation as a general example, considering how large the fanbase is, i thought it would make sense to the majority of people. but you're right, while i never intended the theory to fit INTO the scp universe, it does fit pretty well into the universe of the SCP foundation. I have no idea if that's where the story is headed but there's definitely something similar going on!

As someone who has really bad anxiety, I understand the characters paranoia. I used to have really bad episodes of paranoia. I covered my cameras on my computer and phone, constantly checked if any microphones were on, and I even covered my window with foil and I turned off all location services on my phone. I even refused to answer any phone calls unless it was from my parents. I slept with long scissors every night and locked everything I could. Heck, I even carefully listened to any voicemail I got. Same thing with emails. I still have some of these episodes but they aren’t nearly as bad.

At 3:22 you can see the clips on rins hair which only rin possesses since gumi has goggles. rins hair is shorter than gumis,making you deduct that the emporer is Rin. Also gumi is seen when the girls were spinning around Miku along with him,teto,and Luka.

ok, so the way i see it, is that this is about the draft. she’s being called to “serve her country”. the propaganda part is that they’re playing it off like a game. nobody sees the war as serious. they all see the draft as just a game. go serve your country for a little while. Miku was the same way. she answered the call, also not taking it seriously, until she entered the front lines. she saw horrors. but even then, those above her still just called it a game. losing game after game would be the numerous battles that she was in. ones where she just barely managed to escape with her life. even so, they keep calling her back. she keeps going because she herself has also tried to convince herself that it’s not real, but deep inside she knows the truth, and eventually she can deny it no longer, so she deserts. she refuses the last call and runs, but her higher ups won’t let her escape that easily. so they capture her. i think at the end they’re trying to forcefully brainwash her into believing it’s just a game, and the last chorus of just propaganda is her trying to fight it.

I got a theory, please ignore. This is like a fricken story I made up So judging from their clothes, it looks like this takes place in a school setting. As school can be a breeding ground for rumors, it would make sense (?) in this particular school, people have one thing is common. At least more than half, share a group opinion, most likely they were all raised on the same idea. (What the idea is, doesn’t really matter but you get the point) they seem very defensive about it too *”if you’re not with us, you’re against us”* and *call for passion, call for action call for something more, for war* they’ll probably fight to the death, (metaphorically) and may get very offended when somebody disagrees with them. They mention the game Telephone, and *how long can we keep playing until the game undermines the status quo* in that game, if you change what the person before you said, you might get a weird look. (because you tried to, or did change what the original message was) in this case, it might be representing people trying to speak their different opinions and change something. The other students may see it as disturbing the peace because somebody’s not agreeing with them, so those other kids just go along with it to avoid getting bullied or something. Miku seems to be someone to just keep her head down and follow along, The actual story kinda looks like she gets tangled up in a popular clique, who have strong influences on students. Rin (at least it looks like her, I’m not sure) is dressed in almost militaristic type clothes, so she may have a lot of social power. When she stands over a Miku in a few scenes, that could be that Rin’s trying to make her believe everything she says, and be almost dictatin. Sounds like Miku just wants to peacefully live with a different opinion though... As she hangs out with this clique, she develops a love for gossiping about others, and digging up their dark secrets *developing an obsessional open closed doors, gave me a compulsion need to find out even more* (most likely from social media) When she says *why did I pick up the phone?* that might be referring back to their games of Telephone, and how she consistently changes, or repeats changed versions of the original message. Which could be bad things being said about people. *when it was easier, I should’ve stayed oblivious* Miku brings up things “being easier” a few times. Possibly she’s thinking about when her and her peers were younger, and didn’t care about much, or before she joined a Rin’s clique, and “staying oblivious” she’s probably wishing she didn’t follow along with the rumors, gossip, and overall learning terrible things about people in risk of damaging her reputation. Let’s go back to the start when she says *I couldn’t be the one to tell you what was off that day* I feel like she’s expressing that all the pressure kind of caved, and she unintentionally acts significantly different from how everyone’s been viewing her. *hoping no one notices my thoughts are out of line* well she still doesn’t want to be seen as the rebel against the common idea. It sounds like Rin tried to approach her and ask if something was wrong, but Miku didn’t say anything because (maybe) she didn’t feel strong enough to say to her face that she just didn’t think the same way. Over time, Rin might have gotten the idea that Miku was much different from how she thought she was. So she begins messing with her head, getting her to practically admit things in hopes she can expose her. It’s like when your hiding a secret and you tell someone something you think wouldn’t give anything away, but that other person had gathers information about you that made what you said a dead giveaway. She spreads rumors about how Miku disagrees with everything that everyone thinks, but also stretches the truth so much that it makes Miku out to be the worst piece of human scum on the planet. in the chorus, she’s wrapped up in phone cords, so this might symbolize being stuck in a constant game of Telephone, and changing the message 24/7 to fulfill the demands of a clique that has the power to take any and all of her social standing away. She tries to convince everyone that *It’s all propaganda* in hopes that she won’t be an outcast if they believed Rin lied about everything.“don’t believe anything you see or hear*. When she says “give me a minute, let me decide, it’s my own life. I’m not about to pretend these people are close to being my friends* that might say that she’s gonna stop being friends with people who can’t get passed a certain opinion she’s not even trying to force on anyone, In the next scenes *2:01* and *2:12* she might have LITERALLY ran away from everyone and everything, or just started skipping school and isolating herself. Though at *2:45* it kinda looks like Rin stalks her and just wants to make her life a living hell even more because Miku basically lied just to get in her clique so she would be superior to other students… *Every thought is sabotage, what a fool I am* she might have tried to come up with ideas to make things better, but only makes it worse. And *what a fool I am* might either mean she finds herself dumb for trying, or sees that she’s put herself in the shoes of the people she spread rumors and gossiped about, so she might think it’s what she deserves. (Plus in that scene *2:51* since we get a pretty clear shot at the bandages on her hands, that might suggest something very bad...) the video ends with the chorus, and Miku most likely has had her reputation destroyed, and she lives in fear of people actually hurting her over something that just doesn’t matter too much. I feel like a cool sequel would be Miku either getting revenge on Rin by ruining her life, or starting over and finding friends that can live with each other’s different mindset :) Although I probably got the entire meaning wrong so that sequel wouldn’t even make sense XD
