I think a big bucket of oobleck (non-newtonian fluid) would be super interesting as you have speed controls, I think at a low speed it would sink right in and displace it, but at a high speed would explode, but id love to see what actually happens

Nothing much interesting would happen. Hydrostatically, oobleck behaves just like any other fluid. Only at high speed / high frequency do you get weird behaviour, but a hydraulic press is not at all the right tool to make that happen. BTW, "non-Newtonian fluid" is a pretty cagey description for the properties of oobleck, it's like describing wood as a "non-metallic material". The proper term is _dilatant_ fluid.

Hopefully it worked better than the robot we had unracking parts after they got plated at the stamping/plating plant I worked at. The huge piston was really interesting. At first it looked like it was bending like one of those steel tubes, but then it turns out it was actually cracking from the start. Reminded me of those videos where people put Gallium into aluminium parts to make them fragile, except that the forces here were just orders of magnitude higher instead.
