Very nice presentation. Charming personality too. Different covers than the first editions but the same great content. I grew up in the '70s and Colan for me was Marvel's penciler of the decade. He was simultaneously drawing TOD and Howard the Duck! Talk about versatility. What a great time to be reading comics.

I recently picked up Volume 1 in digital which has issues 1-15 and 1-4 of the magazine "Dracula Lives". It's fairly cheap to get but I wanted to read something spooky for October in the manner only Marvel can deliver.

It's like Marvel's Dark Shadows, but with more action and less romance. You nailed it, though- a great, big, awesome soap opera. I would also recommend Night Force for more wolfman/Colan work.ToD vol. 1 is in reprint now. Get it while you can!!!

Hey man being loving your blog for years so started to binge your old videos, this one has really got me motivated to read these books cause I like you picked them both up years ago 😂 I also skipped three it seemed a bit of a cash grab at the time and I couldn't believe it was an omni with b&w issues (the shame) but I regret not buying it and will snap it up if it gets reissued. Do you think tomb of Dracula will be done in masterworks format ?

Marvel has judiciously skipped a lot of series for Masterworking to get to the point that we're getting books as "new" as Dazzler in MMW. While them finally starting a Ghost Rider line is encouraging, I feel like non-superhero books like Tomb and Werewolf aren't the priority for the format. But, who knows!

I don't know if you're into Artist Editions but there's a Gene Colan Dracula volume coming out next week.

Ooooh. I don't usually care for the Artist Editions, as I'm much more about complete arcs of stories, but that might be the one edition I'd be most likely to buy.

It wont have full arcs but it's a regular artist edition so it at least has full issues not just misc. pages of art.

It's one of the few books I've ever paid more than cover for, and that was five years ago! It's starting to feel like everything will get a reprint eventually, but in the meantime the best you can do is set a slew of alerts on eBay and other networks and be ready to spring into action.

These are two of the only three HCs I've ever paid over cover for, but that was years ago and I prefer the debossed covers and heavier page stock, so I've got no remorse.

I love the different eras of South Street. It was different for my parents compared to the 80s, and different again for me in the 90s when I was old enough to lurk there on my own. I'm sure there are kids who love it today, despite it being a totally different thing. (For me, it was never the same after Tower Records closed.)

Definitely a similar experience...remember going in the mid-80's and being amazed by the mohawks and colored hair I saw as a kid, then there on my own in the mid to late 90's to record shop, funky clothes, etc. Always a destination even when I moved from Philly. Good times.

they had the living mummy, the living vampire, the living zombie. i thought the living thing was how the got around the CCA 's ban on the undead. im not a huge dracula fan but id love to get all of marvel's black and white horror stuff. id love to read the lilith stuff. if you look up dracula power records on yotube there is a good audio drama of a story from the 70s. i just ordered marvel horror the complete collection and marvel decades the 70s from IST . trying to decide of im going to get the marvel horror omnibus when it comes out in the fall.

Oh man! I love all things Dracula so I will definitely try to find a way to read these. Have you ever read The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova? It's the best modern Dracula novel I've read in a long time. If you like horror and suspense, you should check it out. A slow burn but soooo good.

I haven't! I love good, suspenseful vampire stories (so: not Twilight), so maybe when I'm ready for a break from comics later this year I'll read the novel.

Ok is it? I just noticed that there is another Tomb of Dracula Complete Collection Vol 1 available for purchase.Is that the same one? In that way it will take ages to complete the whole lot of 70 comics. I missed out on this Omnibus when it first came and now it's out of my Budget

The pair of Tomb of Dracula Complete Collections announced so far will not take us quite through the first omnibus, but they have some extra magazine content from the third omnibus. They list for $40 each. The first omnibus is reprinted in October for $100. So, they're relatively price equivalent to each other! It's just a matter of which you trust more - Marvel going back to print on the second omnibus or Marvel continuing the Complete Collections.

Oh ! Didn't know that the Omnibus 1 is gonna be reprinted in October.But how come the Price is at 100$.Is there a listing for that new Printing somewhere already?Even the Amazing Spiderman Omnibus reprints don't cost that much.I have the first 2 Omnibus of that series but the 3rd again seems to be out of print now. I just hope i can collect the Tomb of Dracula complete comics in some form or the other , as i am a massive fan of the series If u find any new news on Tomb of Dracula Omnibus Kindly update
