I lived in Las Vegas for 8 years and I can honestly say Its not worth all that. I'll probably never go there again. There are so many better places to visit, why go somewhere where the prime objective is to separate you from your money? Those big, fancy hotels were built with the money of losers and now they want even more money. No thanks!

Not a climate change scientist, I think old 🌲 roots helped to slowly absorb rainwater / flash flooding especially native plant. Now walkways will be more damp by tearing trees up. Increased foot traffic from F1 GP to Superbowl in Winter.

No reason to go to Vegas anymore, nothing like it was when i got married there in 1967 and enjoyed it many years after, at least two trips per year. Havent been for about 5 years now, dont miss the goughing and sub par food. The so called deluxe room we got at Caesars was so bare bones, no table, no chairs, nothing like the rooms used to be. We now enjoy our Indian casinos, much better restaurants and we win!!! Takes us only 1 1/2 hrs to get to one, bada bing!

Let people park for free and dump their money to you. Pretty simple. Resort fees are a total scam pure and simple. I didn't say hotels should be free but resorts fees are merely a deceptive way to artificially list a lower price than you're actually charging. Rubes like you also pay dealer fees, destination fees, paperwork fees etc when you buy cars. It's pretty amusing. You called it inflation but that's nonsense. Inflation doesn't make something go from 0 dollars to 20 dollars overnight.

I started going around year 2000. Went 6-7 times some year from the East coast. It was actually a cheap vacation, even in 2000- 2005 or 2010. Now, every location seems to be deciding well, people are here to blow all their money, let's raise our food prices 10 percent or more per year, lower pay tables, jack up resort fees and the cherry on top, add a 10-30 dollar parking fee per day. I have read that at least some of the resorts are even charging parking fees to guests staying at the hotels.

Formula 1 plans to charge bars and restaurants located along the 3.8-mile racecourse around $50,000 in licensing fees. It was orignally planning to charge a reported $1,500 per patron, sparking outrage and potentially costing business owners millions. We are a long time residents of LV for over 40yrs and we used to visit the strip at least once a week but since they started this (BS) of charging for parking we stop going. LV is changing but not for the best, to many greedy ‘A**Holes’.

It is ridiculous. The parking fees forcing people to rush through a meal in order to avoid/minimize parking fees is going to hurt the casinos in the long run. It's not just the gambling where the casinos would make more, it''s also the shops, and the dining/drinking options. Why eat at a nice restaurant & then go to a nice bar, or club or show, at the same resort right after, if on top of the now pricey cost of all of them, you'll have to add another 10-20 dollars for parking? I was planning to go in September for the first time since the pandemic started, but I postponed that trip now till possibly the 2 weeks that include memorial day 2024. Hopefully I can get over my anger at the casinos' greed and get there; I was flying out 3-6 or more times per year previously.

The high end money will trickle down, to meet the costs of middle America tourism . There are $30 hotel rooms ( The Linq ) with $65 resort fees, higher fees will be adjustable at a later date The issues with restaurants, Hotels, & other services is under staffing. Uber- Uber - Eats - lifts- liquor stores & 12 paks the monorail may or may not be convenient, it beats $20 for parking Happy hour in a bar off the strip is a lot cheaper There are local prices on Paradise Road one block east of Las Vegas Blvd

That paid parking at almost every strip casino is terrible. I always rented a car, and would jump to 6 or more casinos a day, every day of my trip, just so I could see and do as much as I could while there. Now to do that, I might have to add another $100 or more per day, just for the parking. Do you think the strip casinos will ever roll back the paid parking, as it kind of makes visitors limit their time in casinos so they don't get hit with multiple high parking charges per day? You would think casinos would want visitors to stay longer, as the longer almost everyone is in a casino, the more money they will lose.

For someone who remembers the older days of Vegas, I can't do paid parking. Won't do it. And not that I'm a high roller, but typically the way it works out is I go into a casino with a giant wad of cash and leave broke. So now you need to get 1000 extra people in there you wouldn't have otherwise to pay for parking to cover what you just lost by irritating me. They're making me plan these alternative trips where I avoid the strip and all things that make me feel like an ATM sheep for a corporation.

I feel lucky i spent 1977 to 2003 in Vegas and Utah and now live in a small town with a casino only a mile away where no massive crowds, free parking, no scammers around and even my meals are free with my club rewards card, and i win more then i loose. when i go to casino i only take 200.00, ad leave when i lose it, when i win its 400.00 or 3,500, or my biggest win is 18k....i only play 2 machines and watch whos been feeding the machine and losing until they walk away, then i jump on that machine cause the machine is usually now ready to hit. Vegas was only good when the mob owned it in the 1970s early 80s...the slots were looser then and the roulett guy gave you hints on what number the ball would land on if he liked you. lol

@@chrismiller755Room occupancy I thought I read was still 90 percent or over. They will get to a point where occupancy drops to 80 percent or 70 percent just because of greed. At that point they’ll have to roll back the paid parking & cut the room rates and resort fees. I am really surprised it has not hit that point yet, but it has to be teetering on the razor’s edge. The current political regime was pushing for eliminating resort fees so hotels would have to list the full price for their rooms, but I have not heard anything about that recently. With inflation so high, I have a feeling that when we hit 2024 and casinos try to raise room rates, resort fees, restaurant, drink and show prices, room occupancy may drop catastrophically.

yep. last time i drove there was right after mgm added paid parking. i had a gold card so I could park for free. But getting out of the Aria was often a mess because people had to swipe out, machines would work right etc. Cars would be backed up waiting to get out. Before paid parking I never saw that happen.

Hired a Cessna 172 from Van Nuys ...had 60 hours total experience and flew to LV ! The FBO was amazing compared to UK.. Put the chocks in place n refuelling done...free coffee! Do have a hotel? Errr no...OK how about The Excalibur its brand new he asked..OK sounds good...they drove us there.Check in offered an upgrade with in room jacuzzi ! Extra $10 total $70 amazing! Soo bottle of bubbly in the jacuzzi then try my luck...walked out with $200 returned at 2am with $1350..including dinner and a show! This was 1990/91 ...never returned. I guess things changed a bit since? I remember a tiger or leopard at one casino? Amazing experience !

Not sure if I want to be in Vega until after Formula 1, plan to come back next year. So sad for other commenters , but Vegas will always be my favorite vacation spot, so what it changes, it’s still Vegas, and it still excites me when I’m there. Go Aces! ♠️♠️♠️

It’s just NOT the same. (sniffles) ready to go after almost 40yrs. Tired and no longer FUN. Ps was an awful place to raise kids. Example = “blah blah” high school has yet to notify me that my youngest no longer goes to school there. She’s 47 now.

I went to Las Vegas and I came back with bed BUGS. I had too buy a NEW mattress and throw all my clothes that I took too Las Vegas. What a shame people don't go I will NEVER go AGAIN Hell Nooo.
