is it hobby grade?

It's nice to see kids toys driven by grown man. :) If you are starting in RC... get a Truggy RTR from Serpent or ARRMA and you will never come back to show "toys". I also started with "xmods" back in the days...but those were special cause there was and still is aftermakert "alloy/alumminum" parts to upgrade...and even using the real boards from RC's (Kyosho/Losi) that made them so good, you know like a hobby grade RC machine.Anyway... start with a Losi Mini 8ight 1/14 scale or something...cheap at 250€, ready to run...and then you willl see...or jump ahead and buy the first's ones i said (Arrma/Serpent) 1/8 scale RTR's (ready to run, or ready to rebuild as you will know...) lol

Noob here - to the hobby and your vids.I man the control but really it's my dog's hobby. If you have several I'd love to see opinion on best performance re: speed, durability, fun factor, etc. I stick with toy grade because ultimately they become chew toys for my 100 lb doberman but I am happy if he runs after or from it for miles first. And he just grins from ear to ear. Thanks. And did you say you swapped the tires and wheels on this one? I have same and now the game doesn't require batts, I put it on the ground and he drags and pounces on it and does a victory lap with each tire in his mouth. Would like to swap wheels if poss. Thanks for the vids.

Haha, that’s an expensive chew toy. If I was buying one for a dog to chase I’d probably get something faster. If you look at my vids you’ll see one called “we’re screwed”, it’s a drill battery powered rc. It’s not a great RC but it’s fast, and would tire your dog out really well. Kid Galaxy makes a clone of it, search up “kid galaxy f150”. Good luck and thanks for watching.

Hey love the way u make your reviews,ur pretty good at it but don't you think it would be a little cooler if you did hobby grade rc trust me ur gonna have fun with those for sure.Try axial for instance they have some nice rock crawlers,want something speedy try traxxas,ecx and losi

Hey man, thanks for asking. I’m all about hobby grade RC’s and have been for 30+ years. The reason I decided that my first couple videos would be on toy grade RC’s was to catch the wave of something popular that was unique. When I did my Ryobi RC review there were no other videos on it and lots of people wondering what it was like. That video has over 40,000 views and was a great launch for my channel. You’ll see more hobby grade stuff from now on.

Yeah I can’t figure out what RC4WD was thinking. Even worse is that the body post in the bed are three inches longer than they need to be.

Please dont say you think this is good value because is really isnt It may have 4wd but it is powered by two 3 volt motors which you can get a pack of 5 for 8 bucks!!!! it may look cool but you can't get spair parts so some little kid will waist their money on this it will break of course they will be put of rc forever all because they see this video and you say it is pretty good value!!!! Sorry that sounds like i am a grumpy old fart but i just care about peoples rc experiance!!! Keep up the rc and do hobby grade videos in the future!!!!

Lol, the debate rages on. Dee-Cal makes me feel like I’m talking with a southern accent.
@billkilsum20157 жыл бұрын
Cambridge dictionary definitely says the only pronunciation is "dee-cal" but we're talking about English here. Living languages change and English has changed substantially since medieval times. I say pronounce it however you want. As long as people know what you're talking about it shouldn't really matter. "whan that aprill with his shoures soote the droghte of march hath perced to the roote" ^ that's also English, but who even talks like that anymore?

Seems pretty over sprung to be honest, and the tyres look like they are made of leather, but at the end of the day if you give this to a young person they will most likely think it is awesome unless they are spoilt, and that is the point of something like this.

I'm sorry, but I don't see the value in that toy grade RC. That's the problem with toy grade, it made with cheap and useless components. You can take a trip to a good hobby store and get something for a 100 bucks that is way better. Certainly nothing as big, but built with components that are usable and upgradeable. For 150 bucks, you can get an Arrma rc vehicle (they have a few choices) that are a far better value than this, and are far more capable. There is nothing on this truck that has any redeemable quality, and I assure you it's performance is sub par to a lot of hobby rc equivalents.

I have this idea that I’ll attach a plow blade to the front of my XMaxx and run it at this thing at top speed and see what happens. Even though it’s not a great RC I have a hard time justifying wastefully destroying it like that.

@TheRCHack6 жыл бұрын
I know how you feel man. There are many times I want to bash on these cheap toy grade RC's because sometimes they make really dumb decisions in order to keep the price down, but they do have their place. As much as I was not very happy with this RC crawler, if I was a kid with only $100 to spend this is an option. Just have to keep in mind that it is not upgrade-able or repairable. The cheapest Traxxas would be $250 which is 150% more.
