Dearest Nanny, you have such wise things to share, and you are such an inspiration. :) When my mother had a brain aneurysm and 8 hours of surgery, my father kept shouting at the neurosurgeons, 'Bring her back to me, I don't care what state she is in'. He loved her so much.🥰 She was in a vegetative state, and my father, having no support or money, got her walking, eating and functioning again, although she was like a little child and had a short-term memory of 30 seconds. He didn't care. He was with his love. The best part is he had no patience and was a real 'gaddabout' as my mother would say when he was younger!! I guess the adjustment part is the toughest, then it settles down and love takes over.🤩 I can't wait to hear Moosie chirping in the background again at home.

Glad moosie is walking more. I tell my girls about taking care of their bodies. Your garden is awesome. My sister went thru what you are dealing with. Hubby home from care facility after 4 months of care. Broken shoulder. She was very anxious and nervous. But so far it's not as bad as she envisioned. She's 86. I recently broke my wrist and required surgery. First incident of hospitalization in my life, and it happened about 2 weeks after my 60th birthday. I am so surprised at the toll this has taken. I suddenly feel so old and I’m feeling a noticeable shift from middle aged to senior. That’s how I found your channel, because I started researching aging attitudes. The sudden nature of this really caught me off guard and I’m trying to find my footing. I am raising my 9 year old grandchild who I’ve had from birth. I’m a retired Flight Attendant, and Nursing Home Administrator…I’m a smart woman, but this is new territory! Hopefully I have a long way to go, so I’m trying to find the path. Thanks for being one of the guides.

I didn’t notice a ‘shifting of aging attitudes until my late 70’s, my friend…when I started to take some falls because I wasn’t slowing down and didn’t feel my age…I creeps up all of a sudden sometimes…hang in there…🥰❤️

Much adjustment for sure. However, it sounds like you are taking one day at a time, and you have gone through change before and came out the other side just fine. Dear Nanny: I just love all you stories from your past. You have a way of making everything you talk about, so interesting.....I think you look so pretty with your scrunched hair and it is hard to believe that you are the age you say you are. You have obviously taken good care of yourself. You were talking about maybe taking magnesium to help you sleep. I do take magnesium glycinate every night before I go to bed and it has helped me get more restful sleeps. I hope it helps you too.....I am hoping that everything works out for you when Moosie comes back home. Oh Nanny, you are so right, attitude is everything, and I believe age is a state of mind! At 84, my body is sometimes contrary to what I think I want or think I can do. I have 3 joint replacements and my left knee is bone on bone, but I will continue to live with it as it is! I decided after the last surgery, and ending up in a rehab/therapy nursing home for 3 weeks, after going into shock, that I would choose a little pain, over ending up an invalid. We laugh as I attempt to "jump" up out of a chair, to do chores or whatever, as I count how far I can go before i'm upright. sometimes it's 3 the record is 17, hey I'm up, I'm not going to a fire. As I've said before I'm caregiver for my husband who has a bad heart and dementia, we laugh about the fact, he can still move well,(sometimes to well, when he wanders away), and I can still think.I'm active in my church still sing in choir and a quartet, sit on committees, and try to help politically when possible. We enjoy our kids, grandkids greatgrandkids, and extended family! And soon start the plan for Thanksgiving dinner at my brothers, who lives on property owned by our family since the early 1800s, No complaints here, we have been greatly blessed, Yes we have had losses, illness, accidents, scares just like we all do, but "God is good all the time ,All the time God is good"! God bless you and Moosie, and I pray he's home soon,and it's not to much on you!

Hey Nanny - I love your story about seeing Jesus…it gave me goosebumps…I believe it really happened. That’s pretty neat! Happy Birthday Dubbie🎉🎂🎉. My friend Ilona’s last child was 10.2, and I thought that was big, but 11.2 takes the cake. Dubbie was well worth it!! The bougainvillea look beautiful…with the temps going down, it is such a nice time to sit outside. I was laughing at the bird story, I live in the woods, and the house has a lot of windows, and I have saved a couple of birds that have knocked themselves out by flying into them. It’s supposed to mean someone is going to die when a bird hits your window and dies. About two weeks before my Dad died, a beautiful cardinal kept coming to my windows, even flying under the front porch roof and hovering in front of my living room window where I read, just looking at me. To this day I think it was my Mom, telling me that Dad was in trouble…he was…long story! Your hair looks great! You look so young for your age, Nanny. I’m glad you are trying a supplement for sleep…hopefully that will do the trick. You need to keep up your strength. When Moosie gets home, there’s going to be a learning curve for sure, but you two will adjust. Your cottage still looks charming even with the medical equipment. ❤ I have short hair and I have a hairdresser who tells me to finger comb my hair, no brushing nor picking. Finger combing works so well that my set keeps longer. I'll never go back to picking my hair.

Your faithfulness is God’s reward in giving you a beautiful family and life. Of all the videos I’ve watched of yours, you talk about prayer, God, but I never heard of your witness of Jesus. You can wet your hands an scrunch the ends if they look straggly You can put some door screens that stick on your door opening that separate in the middle and you can push them open in the center to walk thru. They work really well and are not permanent …just love a combination of small vases with flowers! Your soup looks soo good! And I love your Jesus story❤️

Nanny…I keep adding to my post, did you see my suggestion about the screen you can add to your door that is removable, you can tie it open, walk thru it…they are great and not permanent. MyDaughter has it on her deck, even her cat knows how to push it open to come through and it just closes auto after!

Good morning Nanny’ 💫. i love waking up to say good morning to jesus! and seeing you, to get my day started’. I like your curls with out a lot of finer combing or no brushing lol the loosening of curls can come when you feel you just gota brush your scalp. i miss my wavy curly Thick hair!! got to get back on my collegen been wait for a sale! i wanna try the marine vita minerals next because seems like even with oils or eating from the ‘sea ? helps your body/skin very much. the guy that makes our elixir‘ has also got 2 other oils and they’re basically from things from sea oh the blue bottle is my favorite! but the dark green i go to for healing more. Hi Nanny you're looking wonderful, blue is your color. Glad you're still having blooms my geranium has some here after Helene hit us ij western NC but the frost has gotten to my others I wasn't able to protect them (my neck is out 😢but am improving). Yes we are living longer, my father's younger brother just turned 99 ( in Florida). I can imagine you're looking forward to your Moosey being home but also his level of care may need some assistance. I know you have Mikey & wonderful family members always lovingly helping ❤. Yes Jesus is real and appears to many. I haven't seen Him yet but looking forward to it. As a child I had my tonsils out with gas & had that familiar round looking thing appear mine had a rope going around, odd; seeing Jesus would've been much better; He was with you in the birth of your babies. Keep your eyes on the memory of Jesus' face. He's loved and guided you for a long time but you know that. You won't be alone dealing with Moose. Jesus will be right there with you. I know sometimes I wish he'd make me a big miracle and fix my problems but as John of the Cross said, the road to heaven is through suffering. I don't pretend to know why but I'll take his word for it. Moose and you and Jesus are in this together. Love is the key. God bless you.

Hi Nanny may I make a suggestion if you don't mind maybe you can use the shower seat also for your safety you will also need help to take care of Moosie I took care of my mom dad my husband my brother who all became bedridden due to a fall stroke and cancer and it is so difficult and tiring through the yrs of taking care of my family now I'm 67 and using a rollator as I damage my spine 4 of my bones collapse and I am using a body brace too please take care of yourself too it's hard to be a care giver maybe you can put a handrail by your front door so you and Moosie has something to hold on too something to hold on to is very important to stop or break a fall I enjoy your videos very much I have been praying for you and Moosie all the time I have been a widow for 17 yrs now now I'm trying to take care of yourself it's not easy as I was in pain hard to move sleep walk or go out please take care and be careful that you don't fall God bless us all stay safe hope Moosie can come home soon

Hi Nanny, I was a Home Health Aide for 18 years and thought perhaps you could use this little following tip. If a bedside potty chair is being used , pour liquid Diluted FABRIC SOFTENER in the pail 🪣 to keep orders away! PLEASE NEVER use Lysol or any other disinfectant to lay in the bottom of the bucket, the smell is NOT PLEASANT!! Don’t forget to take care of yourself the same as you do Moosie 🫎.
