It seems the moto for Holidays is : "Be flexible and Thankful". I too had looked forward to getting together with family. However, my grandson had the flu, so Nana was needed to take care of him while the parents worked. I had to decline my invitations for fear I might spread the flu to others. I am so thankful I got to care for my grandson when he needed me. ❤

So thrilled to see you AND Moose and know that you got to celebrate…albeit in a different way this year. My Thanksgiving was also canceled because my grandson had a sore throat. I met my son at our old “covid” drop off spot and got to see my lil guy in the car but got HUGE hugs and kisses from my son and granddaughter. They are my heart. My daughter-in-love brought dinner to my twin sister…so there were a lot of logistics involved. Then we all ate together on FaceTime. It was lovely and I’m very thankful for them and their love. Now…two things: while in Trader Joe’s you quickly showed a KRINGLE coffee cake. I grew up with them in the house and also lived 10 miles south (in Kenosha) of where they are baked. If you haven’t tried one you’re missing out! Moosie would love it and it could be a “small slice” treat for you. Bytheby…it freezes beautifully. YUM YUM. Secondly…the red lipstick is fabulous on you…and the red nail polish is spectacular. I have only worn bright red polish allllll year long for about 35 years….there’s nothing more classic and elegant. You will get soooo many compliments on your nails….I PROMISE! I’m going to try red lipstick AGAIN…however, I always feel like a “harlet” with red lips 💋. Sooooo….because of you I’m going to give it the ole college try once again. Hope the kiddos feel better soon so you and Moose can once again shower them with hugs and kisses! Xoxo

All our plans were changed also. One of our babies had RSV and another of our grandchildren ended up in urgent care with a very bad sinus infection. So we all dropped off our food to one another and spent Thanksgiving alone but we had so much to be thankful for

I have really good luck with the amaryllis from Trader Joe's, and they are inexpensive. Also you showed the Kringle made in Racine WI - it's one of the best holiday things TJ's sells to eat. My favorite flavor is the Almond! It's like the best buttery, flaky danish-type filled pastry you will ever have. Nanny, you are the best example of making lemons from lemonade, and I am looking forward to seeing those treasures you rediscovered. My friend had same thing - fever, sore throat - missed her Thanksgiving also - she felt bad because she helps her elderly mom make dinner. Sorry you couldn't have dinner with your family. So glad you had a great Thanksgiving!! Over the years we've celebrated 2 weeks before the true date and sometimes after. Date doesn't matter to us. Main thing is getting together sharing a meal, visiting and playing games, running with the dogs and catching up. First year without 96 yr. Old Mom. She is In Heaven able to see and walk again! We had a quiet Thanksgiving. My older son spent the night and my one son came over with my daughter. Sounds like you had a beautiful day. My parents divorced when I was 9 so I only have a few things from my parents. But my husband has so many things from his. Hi Nanny,lovely to see you,I have never tried protein powder,what make do you take,could do with anything to give me energy,with having fibromyalgia never seem to have much energy,Michael cannot do much at the moment,he has being in hospital they have cleaned his veins in his legs to try and get the bold flow to his feet to heal his ulcers,he has had 8 lots of antibiotic’s they did not work,when the specialist at the hospital saw his foot he admitted him,he was in for 5day’s,it healed up,now 2week’s later it’s back again and he is on antibiotic’s and sitting with his leg raised up,so need something to give me energy,take care,love and hug’s to all the family,💜😻💞

Sounds like you still had a Happy Thanksgiving. I like your nostalgic videos. It probably isn’t the healthiest for me to be so nostalgic. Loved this video! I’m going to take your advice and start collagen supplement. I take specific vitamins and a DHA 2x a day, and protein supplement. I tried a collagen and it tasted like fish/ beef brith and made my smoothie taste horrible. Does yours have a taste? I spent an afternoon with my daughters 3 family members… very quiet day, but so intensely meaningful, it brought tears to my eyes later in the day. I am75 and I know nothing is forever… but I felt so so grateful for what I do have-it was a big day of emotion. The last 3 years has taken so much… but given me more. I think I REALLY got a shakeup on taking things for granted… no more! I really SEEwhat is happening and hearing what is said. I’m realizing how all this is temporary and i need to work at keeping these feelings alive too! It’s my responsibility to be someone who is lovable! Thanks for a lovely video and showing great spirit at changes of plans etc…it’s so hard, but u are showing everyone how to age with class. Stay safe… this current viruses coming en mass is not something to take chances with. ..they can be devastating. I normally very rarely get a cold or sour throat. (Only when I snore at night😉). I took a corona test. -But that wasn't it. Luckily I am only tired today. It seemed to go away again fairly quickly. We only have a little bit of Trader Joes products in "Aldi" It looks like a great store! So fun to see the "Danish Kringle"package! I didn't know Chris Kringles last name, means a kringle.. In your last video, you asked whether someone ate organic food . I have eaten organic, since the late seventies. I think. But it's not everything I can afford. As some things are very expensive. Nuts for instance. I don't think there is any right or wrong, reg mini or maximalism. I think for some people it's nice to not be so attached to things. For others it is different. Were not all the same. We all need to make the choices for ourselves specifically that makes us happy.

I think those wax bulbs are such a waste Nanny! The bulb is ruined afterwards.. Otherwise you could plant the bulb in your garden when its done blooming! Please reconsider next year.. Its just as easy to buy one already in dirt in a pot.. Your soup as always looks delicious! But we never eat noodles or potatoes and very little rice.. maybe some brown rice now and then.. I just add extra veggies and meat and we don't miss the carbs.. I think the difference is years ago we didn't avoid the sickness as much as we do now.. I think our immune systems were better for it.. So not a minimalist here.. but i try to cut down what i have all the time.. Always going through .. paring down.. But i don't think i will ever be a minimalist.. Hugs! deb
