We are not at war with Russia. Trump likes to play with his words. We are supporting Ukraines war effort by giving them old stock weapons from the 80s. This helps our economy get rid of old stocks and create newer, more advanced stocks, creating jobs for our economy. One small Example Pennsylvania there producing 155 mm shells. Some old weapon stocks cost more to dismantle and is easier cost wise to donate. It's like having a bunch of vhs players and tapes in storage that we don't really use anymore. Some still work, and some don't some are rusted and have electrical problems. Right now, we're using a hard disk and ram. We're now able to create DNA. Crystal and carbon storage that can hold quadrillion bytes of info. By getting rid of our old stocks. I hope you get the analogy.

Ukraine never had an independent nuclear weapons arsenal, or control over these weapons, but agreed to remove former Soviet weapons stationed on its territory. They were payed for returning. In it's Declaration of independents in 1990 Ukrain stated in Art. 9. that they will not be a member of any millitary alliance.
