I purchased this with money from the channel to test out the possibility of replacing my machines for the gluster cluster with these. Hardkernel did not sponsor this video or had any input into the review.

at 15:22 you encounter some sort of networking issue - almost the same thing happened (on a new HC4) to me after a clean Debian 10 net install, only with LXDE graphic manager. After the first boot, I was getting "link down" in terminal, and couldn't figure out the problem as in Petitboot it showed link up with IP address. After several horus, I managed to find the problem - LXDE's Wicd network manager. as soon as I disabled its service, I was getting IP address normally. I was wondering what fixed your problem with the networking. Also, I find the "toaster" design very wobbly at holding the drives in place - so I'm going to remove it from its case and use SATA extenders to connect drives to it . What do you think?

Thanks for the deep dive! One suggestion, you make an offhand comparison to the Raspberry Pi but the actual results aren't clear. It would pop more if you put the data into a graph or table with the numbers side by side. (Converted to MB or something instead of KB would be good too).

Used Etcher to put Ubuntu on a micro SD card, and Petiboot won't run it. "PXE autoconfiguration failed" Should I try another distro? I just want to run Nextcloud from a snap package.

Fantastic content as usual. Tell me this, a recommended purchase. It's a cool device and ideal for a 24/7 low powered home server. How are or how did you find it. Is it reliable in your valued opinion. Thanks. I have it in my basket but, that $50 shipping is a bit of a sting in the tail.

Been using the device standalone since I made the video, I did make one change I wanted to see how it would work using the Ubuntu OS instead of Debian, and decided to go back to Debian, no problems just was curious what difference it would make. Yeah its seems fine and works very well as a low power NAS
