I'm really glad to hear someone pick up on the conversation between Arisu and Aguni at the start of this episode, because that talk about not really needing greater meaning is absolutely the core message of the show and has been since the first episode. They really cranked it up in season 2 though, everything Kyuma said to Arisu was about this too, and that's also why he didn't give a straight answer about what would happen at the end, the Jack of Hearts game could not be won with any objective truths, we we're never actually told the meaning of the fireworks because the King of Spades shot the girl, and we even had the scene of Arisu and Usagi (which means rabbit) chasing a bunny and having a fun romantic moment failing despite showing us in season 1 that they know exactly how to catch one. Definitely a symbolic scene more than a literal one. Arisu is definitely obsessed with finding answers and purposes to prove it's okay he's alive while Chota and Karube are not, and the audience is just as gung-ho demanding the same, but the show is telling us so far at least that we really don't need them, the ones that actually matter can be made by ourselves. The fact that this is so much clearer is one of countless reasons why I'm so impressed with this show being better than the manga in every way.

Such a cool comment, bro! I’ve seen so many reactors missing the details and people not really understanding the main theme of the show saying that only the games are good but the plots/ story are bad without understanding all the messages behind that the show give by all the details.

There isnt a twist the game is pretty struaght foward but I dont think you guys understand the relation between the game and chess lol. The queen can get tagged either. also at 27:07 the faact that there woud be only 4 people on the queen side could just be that the specific game that they came from had less people to begin with...its not that hard to um understand you know

Ehm no. The Queen of Spades was the King of her team that means she can't get tagged. She's the only citizen that's why she can't change teams. And yes the game has a psychological twist because after half time nobody wants to change side to the loser team. And the fact if you don't win you are literally killing a child. And in my opinion it is a mix out of clubs, spades and heart games. Too bad it's a filler game and kinda disappointing for a face card game. But I still liked it. The Queen was cool.
