@@chrisofstars Literally at the end of the Everything but the Rain flashback. Bleach chapter 537 and for the anime it was in the last cour during episode 12. Yhwach is literally stated by Isshin to be the “Forefather of the Quincy” and that all of the Quincy after he started the tradition have his blood in their veins When Yhwach said “my son born in the dark” he didn’t mean his LITERAL son. He meant it in the sense that all Quincy are his “children”. The “born in the dark” part refers to how Ichigo didn’t know his own heritage. He was “in the dark” to this knowledge.

Everybody always forgets but we've seen the Soul King already last cour and this cour. He's in the Episode 8 after credits scene last cour, we see him in Ichigo's visions in earlier this cour and those same visions this episode except we see an extra image of Ichibe holding the Soul King after the deed (whatever it was) was done, and he's shown at the end of the outro. He has no limbs just a body in a crystal that's why Ichibe says "You thought I would give you the Soul King's arm for free?" Bro just had the Soul King's arm and used it to seal Ywhach's "eyes" just because he could. That's also why Ywhach says "You have become nothing but a mindless and hideous lump of flesh to be worshipped". No one not even someone like Yoruichi who was the head of a noble family has ever met or seen the Soul King and doesn't even really have concrete info on him, and it also gives more clarity to what Aizen and Urahara were talking about in their final confrontation

Sounds to me like Yhwach just a child throwing a fit over the parent. As an anime only, so far I have been presented with zero information to make me think there is some justifiable reason for Yhwach actions. Right now those reasons seem to all be from a place of self interest/self preservation.

@@THEREDDOTHACKz [Manga Spoilers] With the other 3 Schutzstaffel aka Royal Guard members they were all taken out as seen in the episode, however due to Askin’s Schrift he actually was able to endure the seemingly mortal injury that Nimaiya inflicted upon him as you saw in this episode. This resulted in him nearly killing Nimaiya though due to him explaining at least in part how his Schrift works, Kirinji is able to nullify its effects and then Nimaiya is able to inflict another fatal wound on Askin, seemingly taking him out.

I'd suggest re-watching the episode again slowly and carefully to understand the first scene. It matters a lot because it's a new material not from the manga and is very important.

Nobody who is anime only is going to understand the intro from this episode right now. I've never heard of an anime literally spoiling its own manga before, but that's essentially what they just did. This intro partially reveals something about Yhwach that doesn't become revealed til way later in the manga. So therefor, for anime only people, there's no way for them to really understand what they're seeing right now. If they remember this scene it will click later.

[Tidbits & Clarifiations][Lotta reading my bad] - This entire opening sequence between Yhwach and Ichibei is exclusive to the anime. We get some pretty important details, Ichibei seemingly is using the Left Hand of the Soul King and Yhwach can't use whatever his abilities are to see through the Soul King. Further, we now see who and how Yhwach abilities became "confined" (Basically Yhwach absorbs the left hand which in turn seals his Ability (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong)) - With the added scene we get additional context as to what Yhwach motives may be. He seems to be upset about how the three realms came about and he claims that his father, the soul king has been put through humiliation. - The Flashback scene takes place in the World of the Living, it's the Licht Reich which is the Quincies empire. Ichibei was their to negotiate, which is crazy to think because it seems that 0 Squad rarely leave the royal palace unless it's very important. - Yhwach for the 1st time shows some emotion here, though he says otherwise he's clearly upset about whatever it was that happened to the soul king - We see Uryu activate something, so it's proper to speculate what is it he did or is doing. - A scene is removed where Yhwach arragontly ignores Senjumara and steps leisurely pass her, it was a cool scene that express Yhwach's defiance against the Soul Palace and everything they stand for. - Nianzol Weizol schrift "The Wind" is quite strong, it redirects any attack aimed against him even on an instinctual level, the issue is things like clothes don't have intent so Senjumara was a horrible match-up for him - That Blade that kills in 1 strike isn't Oetsu's Zanpaktou, it's simply a blade he made and hasn't had a chance to use, we don't yet know whether he even has a particular Zanpaktou unique to him. - Assuming Ichigo remembers what his father told him about the past, this would be Ichigo's 1st interaction with Ganju while finally realizing they are related. Further Ganju makes an interesting claim, his sister knows a lot about the royal palace which again makes sense when you remember that the Shiba's were one of the 5 most Noble Clans. - When Yhwach escapes the Cage the camera seems to hone in on Uryu, many have speculated that it is Uryu's unknown ability that allowed for that to occur. (This isn't how it occurred in the Manga so we don't know either) - Sidenote the anime seemingly makes huge changes because certain events in the manga which occurred in a certain manner have simply been completely changed, so even we manga readers have no idea what may happen at this point.
