While it can be frustrating dealing with the old cables and gears, once this is fixed it will serve you for a long time because you take care of your vehicles 😎

Some guy in the states put together a off on the sun roof. Common issues and fixes. Break down diagram and how to set it up. Did u get a copy of it

hi, you don't have to plug it in to test it: just use the allen key to turn it by hand. it is still possible that the cables are good but that the old grease is causing a jam.

Nightmare! Looks like it had seized up or jammed and then the motor just stripped the teeth off the cable. I’d stick up a wanted post in the CRX group on FB - someone might have them available.

Cables cannot be got new, need to find a breaker with decent ones. I've restored a couple over the years & they've been OK to reuse but it all depends on the damage to the threads. People over work the sunroof when it doesn't close properly or catches on the guides which then wears out the cables. I'll have a look in the loft but I think I gave my last spare set away.
