The Icarus theme is pretty much the main motif of the Deus Ex series. Humanity tries to "fly high" by augmenting ourselves to be more than human, thus the events of the entire game unfold. We fly too close to the sun, our wings of wax melt and we fall. Thus, humanity divided. The main thing to take from the Icarus system being a parachute type system, is that A)You use 'wings' to slow your decent, and B)While flying too high will screw us over, wings of wax CAN be used safely and effectively to 'slow our fall' and other philosophical themes. Deus Ex is HEAVY on the philosophy.

Some people like the intro because they didn't play through the whole previous game, or have forgotten bits of it since it was years ago. Some people don't like it, so you can skip it. And yeah, it's a video, timestamps or not you can skip past it. Even VHS had fast forward, wtf? What I hate is long, mandatory tutorials and the constant hand holding most games have. Glad to see SquareEnix is still capable of a good game, at first glance anyway.

I started my own playthrough of Deus Ex MD, and had no idea you were playing it Cry. Now that Im a little further in and after seeing you had already finished your playthrough, I decided to watch. So seeing the intro recap of Human Revolution made me remember what a incredible game that was and the hours and hours I played it. I hope I will have the time to put into Mankind Divided, cause its taken me almost 3 months to get to the 2nd area in the game, granted I took a break from it. But my point being, HR & MD are just fan-fucking-tastic games, even though the original Deus Ex is 30x better than the new ones, I still love them all. This series will never disappoint me!

I've never have played this game before, but I am pretty excited to watch Cry play it, although I find the intro humorous since it was basically summarized as: "I was called upon by this person to check out this person but then lead me to another person, but then this person lead me to this person, but then lead me to the ILLUMINATI, and a person I thought was dead, but she wasn't, lead me to this person, which lead me to this person who killed people to make a false point. I see people in the comments saying that if you didn't like this intro for being long then you shouldn't like Okami's, but even when I was a young kid I thought the opening to Okami was interesting enough that whenever I restarted the game I didn't find myself bored going through it (although, the opening cutscene for me always lasted like 15 minutes, compared to how long it was for Cry that isn't too bad). This one was just weirdly long-winded and threw sooo much stuff at you at once. On the other hand though, I understand that they want to teach new players what happened and remind old players of what happened, and it's nice of them that they make it optional. :D
