Finally! I've been looking for an indepth vid on this chest rig. The inclusion of the bib, plate pocket, and ability to attach a pack, reminds me a lot of the Eagle Industries RRV.
@EODFish4 жыл бұрын
Exactly. It’s like a fixed configuration RRV but much lighter construction.

YES thank you! I've been trying to tell all these hot boy clout chasers that running a chest rig directly mounted to a pack (mostly haley's) is ridiculous. This and molle-ing on a pack to your rear plate bag....You're going to be working on your own 95% percent of the time; the other 5% you're going to feel too dumb to ask a buddy to retrieve whatever it is thats in your pack... Its far more prudent to have a separate pack you can don and doff painlessly so you can get your shit yourself.
@isaachousley3254 жыл бұрын
Same with hydration. Used to like the idea of having my camelbak mounted on my plate carrier, that is until i tried it the first time i went on a field op and found out how much of a pain in the rear it is to have your buddy try to figure out how to dismount/mount it how you had it and stow/unstow the straps when doffing body armor
@GooninRaccoonin4 жыл бұрын
Exactly! I never understood why everyone did that, especially when I saw a Joe take off his kevlar and and plate carrier just to REFILL WATER. What's even worse is when they have a larger pack and they cant take it off when going in and out vechs so they cant even sit properly
@zerofire31724 жыл бұрын
you gotta admit the molle on backpacks look super cool tho lol

is there any sort of quick detach mounting option for that pack by any chance? and how would two 40-round pmags coupled with a maglink fit into one of those pouches?

Can you mount this pack, on this chestrig, with using the crye yoke? Like connecting at the shoulders and down to a clip for example on the rig? Thanks in advance!
@TTCook603 Жыл бұрын
The avs chest rig really needs the avs yoke or avs harness to unless you rig up the avs1000. With the yoke, the avs 1000 pack mounts well.
@jahbuny3 жыл бұрын
Awesome video. Man i can't make a decision now. Was initially looking at the avs harness and the plate bags which come out to 600. Now im thinking an avs harness and this chest rig. Total comes to 750 but you do get all the additional pouches. Do you feel like this holds the front and side plates well or do they move a lot when running?
@EODFish3 жыл бұрын
It does a very good job of holding the plates. Perhaps not as well refined as a true plate bag but certainly good enough.

@@EODFish awesome! Thanks for the response. I already have a PC so this could make a solid backup/recce kit. Last question, whats the fit with AK mags? 1 or 2 per pouch?
@renaissancemarinetv35364 жыл бұрын
30 years ago i was playing with chest-born pouches when there was nothing much to choose from. i think it is worth the experiment. so what, in your opinion, is the real benefit in this setup as opposed to just a plain-jane generic plate carrier, covered in molle, and pouching it up front and back to your liking? weight? or the ability to dump plates?
@EODFish4 жыл бұрын
In this instance, if the layout works for you, you get the benefit of overall weight reduction as no attachment system is needed, arguably some strength increase for the same reason, potentially cost savings, and the ability to have everything ready to go whether you need armor or not. That last one is pretty cool IMO as you can retain the decision of armor or not all the way up to the very last second of planning.

So you didn’t really watch it? I added shoulder pads that I already had on hand. Also, your K19 aside from being the literal hipster option of the tactical realm, is $219+ and only holds plates. Total up, realistically, the cost of the pouches attached and get back to me.
