Do people not understand that in films, there can literally be a 3min scene that actually takes 5hrs to film? Of course actors use a menthol tear stick. Forcing yourself to cry either continuously or cry for 30seconds-stop-cry for 30 seconds-stop again.. is exhausting. They may cry for the first few takes but after a while it just gets to the point of impossibility.
@nennejoh7 жыл бұрын
Pretty sure really good actors do, and they usually use the first shot of like the dry eyes going watery. Because when you're eyes are watery it takes a long while until they get dry again. :)

Then you probably haven't seen a lot of late-night or others shows with guests, because they are pretty much the same and they all do the same or similar things. Something like this I've seen so many times on Graham Norton show, Jimmy Kimmel, Fallon, on the Ellen show.....etc. It is difficult to come up with something new, when everything had been done over the decades already. But, the difference with James Corden is that he really seems like a very nice, honest guy, who really genuinely loves what he does for living and he enjoys interacting with his guests.

I have practised this for a while, and my method is to actually encourage myself to cry 100% legit by thinking of really sad situations and imagine myself being in those situations. I think that your body language and your facial expressions can only become truly genuine and convincing if you _actually do_ cry for real, without "faking" it in any way.
