The old woman with the knife and the old man with the horrified look on his face are played by my grandparents. The dead body with the bleeding gut is me! The comic looks fun. I love a nice little anthology! Good episode to have my bumper appear at the end of!

The bumper at the end was made by me. I play the bleeding dead guy. The "seniors" are played by my grandparents. And yes, we all had a lot of fun making this little video... The extended family's reactions to seeing my grandma as a knife wielding killer have been great!

I bought a couple of old Marvel anthology comics from a fifty cent longbox awhile back. They were an odd mix of new (for the time) horror stories, plus reprinted stories from their monsters years. Not just pre-F3 monsters like Fin Fang Foom, but also from the post-Timely era when they were fighting with EC for comic rack space with title like MENACE. That would make for a nice name for an off branch of the Marvel Studios franchises that specialize in horror movies, possibly even an Amicus-like anthology. C.o.S. would be the perfect title for one!

I like that one of the stories is essentially a twisted version of the 98 pound weakling getting sand kicked in his eye at the beach story prompting him to adopt the Charles Atlas muscle gain method. I hope the original publication of the comic had one of those ads in it. Clearly becoming a musclebound hulk in response has its problems and antisocial implications, but what is the proper pro-social method that will not lead to you hurtling towards the core of the Earth.

I'd say it would be to pull a Luther Strode and adopt The Hercules Method instead. Sure, it still has some of those implications and of course you'd have to run an obstacle course of history's greatest murderers. But everything seemed to work out for Luther in the end and he was a kind and likable guy despite having been a bloody handed vigilante for awhile.

This is a 1973 Marvel comic reprinting in-house horror comics from the early 50s after the Comics Code was softened a few years to allow for horror again.
