I'm going to call it again. This time is even more present as a topic. You have to read Alexander Bard's books like "The Netocrats" or "Digital Libido". The guy has wrote about this transition to the attention economy in 2000. He called it first Informationalism and evolved into Attentionalism as the death of Capitalism. In the Netocrats he made a proper Marxist type of class analysis of the future society that goes digital

Dan, you should inform yourself about 1. what innovation is 2. what the actual measures are and then 3. compare the numbers Europe vs US. Btw also look at how much of the US innovation stems from the SV in percentage of GDP and in relation to the invested money. Might be humbling but helps for truth seeking. Cheers from Europe ;)
