Why do you have to go and get the windows installer if you are already running a windows machine? Do you uninstall everything after you use it, opting to reinstall the next time you need it?

The first time, it did not match because you did it wrong. If you read closely you could see the Sha1 at the first time matchning.

Any idea why gpg --verify [parameter] [parameter] always returns an error of gpg: verify signatures failed: Unexpected error. Windows 7 Pro machine, if that matters. Thanks!

I figured it out! verified Gpg 4 win matched. But on the other page it doesn't have a sha1 to check. Is that cause its a new version? Thanks

Only give ultimate trust to your OWN keys. It's not safe to give other people's keys ultimate trust.

Why go through all this if you are going to just accept it anyway? I don't understand what the warning is for, or why you are ignoring it. You say "not best practice"... I am even more frustrated than when I started this little journey. I want to buy bitcoin, I want to trust someone, and my computer and it's connections, and I want to put it on my Ledger Nano S. Who do I turn to now?

When I click download it takes me to a advertisement like the Best Buy one. Did you download from softpedia? Trying to learn as much as I can about the fundamentals before I do anything big with crypto more about learning and understanding. Just new and want to be careful ya know. Aaron Glusica, Yes sometimes downloading from these Ad driven sites can be tricky. Sometimes which button to click can be confusing. I usually click the download and then wait a little bit before I click the next button. Sometimes the download dialogue will appear

Wanna know why people dont use Linux? This stuff, this is why. Pain in the BUTT. I spent 4 hours trying to get bios updated on my moms legacy non uefi bios through linux. Only to take it home and install windows 10 and do it that way, it took much less time, and now I can put linux back on the old laptop and be done with it. Oh but wait! It has hybrid graphics, which is another huge mega pain in the ass. This is why people dont use linux. Because its a mega pain in the ass.
