Good lord, this really gives you a sense of perspective when put in context. These ships are epic! When in eve you cant appreciate the size of the ships because you are in space with nothing to compare to. I've always wondered what the ships would look like compared to every day items ect.. Not too bad

Excellent work dude, always nice to see the ships in a more comparible scale, even if they were dirty amarr :P

Eve needs to set scales right, this is a great example of how the ships overall sizes should feel like. Nice free fall btw

That's pretty freakin huge. It's too bad the Source Engine doesn't support ships like this. Thanks for the extension.

schweet!! since i know nothing of how to do this myself, ever think of putting other ships together for additional comparison? frigate next to cruiser next to BC next to BS? I know that other vid shows it - but you have teh purtier visuals. kudos on a cool vid!

Orbital speed actually doesn't depend on the size of the space station, at least not until its mass starts getting close to the mass of the planet. A baseball in low Earth orbit would move at the same speed as a 40 km diameter space station.

This ships look amazingly huge, the funny thing is that the scale of the battle ship you dropped in there, is about the size of a frig (which are comparable to a 747.) I laughed when you got shot by the boat, it looked like it came from the avatar, :P
@MKhrome15 жыл бұрын
@USREVEGE No, they aren't the size of moons. One thing to consider though is that they do have a very, very high density due to all the metal, whereas "normal" planetary bodies have a much lower density with metal only in the core. A titan could theoretically exert enough gravity to affect tides, when close enough to a planet, or other such things.

Wow, nice vid. So judging by this, the DD weapon on the Avatar could turn the Big Island of Hawaii into a crater?

gotta love the cry-engine. To bad EVE doesn't put the ship sizes into prespective like this. I mean the guy was doing long term free falling inside the ship. That f-ing huge!

Im sure when CCP allow you to walk around in the stations there will be some kind of "Star Trek" style Turbo lift system to move you around the place, as you will hit the server downtime before you even get to the 4th floor :)

so, what IS that sound at the end? the one that precedes the rocket blowing you apart.

The game simply must make ammends to playability. It'd be great to see how large battleships really are, for example, but it would be awful if you couldn't target anything because your battleship were always in the way. :) If you really want some kind of scale, then keep your camera zoomed in as far as possible every time you are flying a large ship, I guess.

Personally, I've often imagined ships from EVE at scale, and it's nice to see it holds up. I mean a Megathron is only 500 meters long according to EVE, but still, that's half a kilometer. Could you imagine seeing just one of these ships decending on your city, and holding it at cannon point for ransom? Capsuleers truly are digital gods.

great stuff, but what game is that? aside from importing the models from eve.

@anubis9109 How can it be in perspective in Eve? You never see yourself (besides when you're podded). Which is freaking tiny anyway. The ship sizes in comparison to each other are correct, the only way for CCP to show you from the perspective of a human is to complete their 'walking in stations' thing.

Sorry, my fail... Must be my perception then... And yes the Avatar is 'only' about 13km long, i was thinking on the Ragnarok...
@SubnetMask15 жыл бұрын
In the info you say sense of scale in Eve cannot really be improved as it's all a dark void etc, I see what you are saying but I disagree, if the effects for the larger ships were designed with more detail and to be smaller, the ships would 'feel' larger to us because everything seems to be happening on a smaller scale. Like for example massive explosion effects after shooting ships with a light laser = bad. Also they should turn MUCH more slowly in game and not just flip around so quick.

Ridiculous...no wonder Titans inspired terror and awe in those who see it first hand... What's more ridiculous are the 3 Jovian Motherships...they're supposed to be much larger than the titans of the other four empires...=D

.... I said to bad Eve doesn't put things in perspective like this. I wish it could but it doesn't. I know all that I was just saying too bad CCP doesn't put ships into perspective like he did in this video because then I would appreciate the size of my raven a bit more than I do.
