The Irvine Police Department released crystal clear security video on Friday showing a pair breaking into several vehicles, including a handyman's tools. Michel Gile reports.

If you read on the other comments i don't usually get paid in cash. That evening I didn't get home from work until 8-9pm and hadn't eaten anything all day. Once I got home all I wanted to do was take a shower and get some food in my stomach. I completely forgot about the money.

I worked until 9pm that night and hadnt ate anything all day, and when i finally arrived home, all i was thinking about was getting some food in my stomach. The money that was in my truck was what I earned for the day. It wasn't all of my rent money just a portion of it and yes. It was stupid for me to leave it in the truck but I completely forgot i even left it in there.

I got family in the contracting business. They never keep their tools exposed and unlocked like that. You gotta protect your livelihood even if it means spending an extra 10-15 minutes bringing all those tools back into your home every darn day. I feel bad for the guy, but come on its 2024 now, you have to be a little bit smarter than a door knob! You don't leave your tools all packed in your truck overnight out in the "open" like that... EVER. you pay the 100 bucks a month to the apartment complex to have your truck in a locked garage and at your house you definitely put it in your garage. I'd also have security alarms that detect movement so if anyone gets in your garage the alarm sounds and they take off running b4 stealing anything. Who leaves any cash, much less RENT money, in the truck over night? Come on, a door knob has more brains in 2024. The guy never watched full metal jacket from 40 years ago?
