Since it is an outdoor pool I would also test CYA. Alkalinity, TDS and calcium hardness too. The water looks great.Thanks.

That is going to be another video! Calcium is only for concrete pools however to protect the paint. But you are right,there is more to test once a month.Thank you for tsking the time to comment!

@@TJsoutdoorlife Looking forward to it! I myself have a liner pool but in order to calculate the LSI (I want to know if my water is aggresive or has a scaling tendency). But it is very easy to check the water hardness with a test kit). Best regards.

Where did you get the storage container? I need one. I'm new at this. I didn't realize that you need to be a chemist to have a pool. Thx for the info!

I have an above ground pool approximately 5500 gallons.... if my chlorine is low how much do I add? Same foe PH.... my ph is a little low so I believe I add baking soda to raise the ph? It's around 6.5 or so.... any advice is appreciated....new pool owner so I'm trying to learn....thnx!
@TJsoutdoorlife3 ай бұрын
@@bflo5210 I would add a half gallon of chlorine and test the water 2 hours later to see where it stands and add more if needed to learn your pool. I would do the same with the baking soda. 6.5 is way low.shoot for 7.5

@@TJsoutdoorlife so for the baking soda maybe add 1/2 pound (8oz) to start too?

Absolutely!!! You are very welcome !! Hope it helps and more is to come;)

Don’t use baking soda to bring up your pH without testing your total alkalinity.

I appreciate your video but if you are calling the pool stuff chlorine I was always taught to not store acid near chlorine for safety
@TJsoutdoorlife4 ай бұрын
@patrickleefpv5749 yes the pool stuff is the chlorine and it is fine as long as it doesn't leak.Thats why I stored it on opposite sides in a 10 ft long storage chest. And thank you 😊

"What is the "pool stuff" you use, and what do you use it for? You talk about how and why to use Baking Soda and Muriatic Acid, but then you point to the "pool stuff", and don't say what it is, and how and why you use it.

The pool stuff I refer to is chlorine;) Thank you for asking, and if there is anything else I can help with, please let me know.
