I'm a recovering addict. I started young as well. I've been doing drugs for 25+ years. I was on the streets the whole 9 yards. There's hope for her. If I can do it she definitely can do it. I've been clean for 1 yr & 7 months. Such an amazing feeling. I'm going to be a recovery coach so I can help ppl like myself & her. I'm 48 & wasted 1/2 my life doing drugs. The second half of my life I want to remain sober and enjoy life. I will pray for her. Unfortunately the odds are against us but she doesn't have to be a statistic. I wish the absolute best for her. I have faith in her. God is good.

10 minutes in and you can tell she has great aptitude that wasn't nourished in her younger years. Despite the drug use, I think it's obvious by the way that she articulates herself, the points she emphasizes, and her ability to self-reflect... all these things show intellectual promise. It's a shame that there wasn't a strong male figure or even just parental guidance to encourage her to blossom her talents... encourage her to stay out of the environments that led to such awful experiences that a young girl should never have.

My BFF is 47, she just quit meth this year, she quit heroin last year and is trying to wean herself off methadone, she doesn't want to take anything anymore. The doctors told her she would never get off the methadone, she's really trying to quit it though. We've been friends for about 11 years. I never judged her for anything, and she always respected me and never stole anything from me. I'm very glad she was able to get off the street drugs and hopefully the methadone soon. You can do it!

I was just fixen to back out of this video only due to the fact that the constant use of “ummm” is driving me crazy lol I’m so petty, I know but I am a work in progress in so many aspects. Anywho.. I’m so glad I caught a glimpse of your comment because it hits so close to home. Fortunately I have always been scared of heavy duty more serious drugs but addiction is an addiction and I would take 20-30 tabs a day and finally after 15 years of that, I started the methadone program. It really did save my life! And November makes 8 years since I’ve taken a pain pill so it has definitely helped in so many ways! I was a selfish monster in my active addiction. It feels amazing to be trusted again! However…I am TERRIFIED TO COME OFF OF IT! Your friend is so lucky to have you by her side while she goes through this. Yall are in my thoughts and prayers. It's so important to have a strong responsible father figure as a child growing up living in the home. It's tragic that the older brother who had so many emotional problems became the negative role model for Tawsha growing up. She seems earnest in wanting to leave the soul rotting life on meth & the streets behind & rekindle her relationship w/ her children. It seems that she's right about how using drugs caused her to become robotic in order to work as a prostitute. Like the other young man mentioned in another interview, post traumatic stress syndrome is common with people who become involved in sex work. He had spent several years focusing on recovery & he still was working on himself to become whole again. Hope she gets help for her depersonalization, depression & other issues that caused her to get stuck in the rut of that type of life.

The problem with that is it always starts with a certainty that you won't find yourself so far down that road .. No one begins using thinking it will get ahold of their life ..Look at the information we have today about the undisputed dangers of tobacco.. kids still take up smoking and think it won't happen to them because they have control over becoming addicted.. I agree that showing some of these stories has a lot better chance of reaching kids than a standardised drug education pamphlet ✌️
